The Dryer Vent Wizard guys fixed us up with a new cover.  They did a great job and were very professional.  They also took photos for us, and helped us explain the problem to the builder.

While the provider did as described above he also pointed out the cause of the problem: lint buildup in the vent duct. He said that this is a very common cause of the problem I called for. He indicated that he wanted an additional $100 to address the cause. His solution was to clean out the duct. He offered no other alternative. When I asked how long the work he did was guaranteed for he said he could not guarantee it if he could not do the duct cleanout as well. I replaced the 20 foot duct myself. It cost $20 and took me 15 minutes to do. The technician said that the provider gets many similar calls like the one I made every day. To address the problem partially (replace coils and vacuum dust inside the machine) and not do a complete job unless they get an additional $100 is gross overpricing at best. I found this outfits approach disingenuous.

They arrived when they were scheduled with a phone call first to inform us they were on the way. We had been having trouble with birds building nests in our dryer vents recently, which caused our dryer not to function efficiently. We bought bird cages to install over the vents but this wouldn't work well for the dryer vent. When they arrived, they first assessed the situation and wrote up an estimate which we approved before work was started.

This was the experience of my wife with Dryer Vent Wizard:
Dryer Vent Wizard is the absolute worst! We live in a loft and th
dryer vent pipe is exposed and easily accessed. I was originally quoted $75. by
Chris Zoto, the franchise owner on the phone and scheduled an appointment for
next day November 30th based on that price. Dryer Vent
Wizard came Chris Zoto said he did the work then proceeded to charge me $195.
for the cleaning, $30. for a “Lifetime Guarantee” (something I would never have
purchased, but was told by Chris Zoto the franchise owner, was mandatory, though
it is priced at $29. on the Service Invoice!) and $18. sales tax (that should
have $17.92) for a grand total of $243.00!! Not the $75.00 I was originally
quoted!
Guess what …. on December 16th condensation was dripping from the dryer
vent pipe again because it was still clogged! I called Chris Zoto of Dryer Vent
Wizard; he came out again and said he cleaned it all out this time. That same
evening I did laundry and again condensation started dripping from the dryer vent
pipe, because it was still clogged!
I immediately phoned Chris Zoto and told him that the dryer vent pipe
was still clogged; he refused to come out unless I paid an additional fee and
rented a lift so that he could access the vent from the outside! So much for
that “Lifetime Guarantee”! I asked to have the entire $243.00 refunded since he
failed to do the job, he refused; he called me an “old hag,” shouted
obscenities at me, and then hung up on me! His wife called and attempted to
apologize for him, my husband spoke with her; he told her of her husband’s
forcing the “Lifetime Guarantee” on us, but now that we had it, come clean the
dryer vent pipe, she refused unless we paid an additional fee! My husband then
asked for a complete refund, she refused.
After numerous phone calls and messages to Dryer Vent Wizard’s headquarters,
they NEVER called me back. My advice to anyone thinking about hiring Dryer Vent
Wizard or Chris Zoto is DO NOT!

Dryer Vent Wizard came out and discovered that my vent pipe was not up to code to begin wth (thin foil pipe), and was clogged and/or broken so that my dryer was venting directly into the crawl space and not getting outside. The tech let me know that they would need to replace the pipe with a metal pipe that was up to code, which would take a few hours and be about $800. They also let me know that this would require cutting holes in the ceiling of the first floor to install the new pipe. I asked, and they told me that they do not do drywall repair, an that would be my responsibility.
I agreed and they got started. Eventually there were two techs working on the job. It was actually a little awkward as the techs bickered the whole time, but whatever--they got the job done. All in all, they did what they said they would do--cut holes in my ceiling and replaced the vent pipe. The holes in my ceiling were about 12and quot; by 18and quot;, and another about 8and quot; by 8and quot;. They installed a new metal pipe and an outlet on the wall outside the house.
Overall they got the job done, and done well, but a few things could have been better. First, they were dirty. Cutting drywall from teh ceiling that is packed with lint is a dirty job. I had to provide my own dropcloths to try and minimize the dirt and debris. After completing the job, I also provided garbage bags and they helped me pick up the drywall, lint, and metal piping, but they were less than enthusiastic about the cleanup part. I brought up my own shopvac and vacuumed everything up myself after the job was done. The techs definitely could have been neater, and slightly more professional.
Also, my original dryer vent had a hood on it that I assume either kept rain and/or animals out of the vent pipe. The new vent has shutters, but no hood. When I asked if i need a hood, they said that I did not, but I still felt like it would have been nice to have since I had it originally.
As for the price, I paid $842.40, which I have no idea if that is reasonable. I did not get a competitive quote, as I wanted this problem fixed ASAP.
Overall, the guys did a good job, and I would recommend the work. If they worked a little harder at the little things, my recommendation would be stronger.

When we called for an appointment we were given a 3 hour window. The serviceman came to do the job within this window. He was careful as to where he placed his ladder since we just had new landscaping done in the area that he had to work in. He removed the birds nest and debris from the pipe and installed a new vent cover over the vent outlet.

I live in Chesterbrook, PA. I needed my dryer duct system upgraded and so I checked Angie's List and found Dryer Vent Wizards. I wanted someone very reliable and knowledgeable - who would do the job right. Gerry Rhen from Dryer Vent Wizards contacted me almost immediately. Gerry did a wonderful job and ndash; from the moment he arrived through to job completion. He went above and beyond to very carefully assess the current set-up, explain what should be done to make the system comply to regulations and become more efficient, present various choices, provide a specific and reasonable estimate in terms of cost and time, plan the job according to my busy schedule, and fully complete the work as planned in less than ideal conditions. Gerry also customized the system based on my unique needs after clearly outlining the options to me. The work is beautiful, and my system is now running far more efficiently. I will not hesitate to recommend Gerry to all of my friends and neighbors.

They were great. The came on time. Surveyed the system and gave me a quote. Then they performed all work required and explained what was going on and the issues they found. They could not replace one of the washing machine hoses as the existing hose was corroded. They gave me the hose for 1/2 off. I would definitely use them again.

The dryer was not working properly and the vent hose was constantly coming detached from the cover pouring heat and dryer lint into the basement, not only causing a mess, but causing the pipes to sweat which gets everything wet. Additionally, the flexiable vent hose tends to clog easier increasing the possiblity of fire. Dryer Vent Wizards called and came out the next morning and replaced the hose which is now secure and the dryer is working efficiently.

This company came to my house to clean and/or repair the vent on my roof. The technician determined that the exterior vent screen was clogged with lint, but the metal pipe was clear. He easily removed the clog. He did exactly what was needed and did not try to sell me more than was necessary, which I greatly appreciated. I will definitely use this company again. The technician was personable and professional, he explained everything that he was doing.

Mike arrived on time and called 30 minutes before arrival, per my phone request. He was friendly and honest. Explained that our vent system looked to be in good shape and up to code. I wanted it cleaned and to have a new portion installed. Two issues: on the phone, was told Chris the owner would be coming. He did not. Also told that the $39 fee would be deducted from price of service. Also not true. Told that the visit would be an inspection and quote, then I'd make new apt. to have the work actually done. Also not true. Mike wanted to do the work right away and I wasn't totally prepared for that. Other issue is they overcharged me. Charge $25 to take line out of dryer...a 3 minute job with a long brush. Charge $89 to re-tape and remove screws. A 7-minute job. Cleaning the entire vent lists at $225. Later, Chris the owner called me and reimbursed me for the over-charging. That impressed me. But, the sticker shock was already done at that point. Nice work, but over-priced.

I was referred to this company by an appliance repair company. I called and got Chris's wife on the phone, she advised me that they had a cancellation for the same day and Chris would be out between 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Chris arrived promptly at 2:10 pm, gave me an estimate, and performed the rather difficult task professionally and quickly. NOTE: there is a $39 service fee for coming out and you are told this on the phone prior to the visit.
