We have done two prior home renovations, employed dozens of various contractors and had many justified frustrations and complaints along the way. We were always happy to bid sayonara to these contractors upon job completion. However, even after three months of working in our home, we were sad to see Bill finish and leave. Bill is just that good?.he is truly an old world craftsman with a work ethic you don?t often find any longer. He takes pride in his work and on a job of our size that was critical. It was reassuring to know that each day my contractor wanted things right as much as I did, not just his check and to scram as quick as he could. In the months prior to our big project, we hired Bill upon recommendations from many of our new neighbors for some small projects and found him to be trustworthy and supremely capable. When we approached him about our addition, he advised us on how to keep the cost within our budget and helped us incorporate elements we wanted but thought might be too much money. Once the job started, he was always on the scene and did most of the work himself. Even components where he used subs for example plumbing or roofing, he was always on site supervising and these subs were always respectful, professional and competent. When small items came up, Bill was always good about communicating these to us in advance and working with us to provide solutions. As mentioned previously, his work ethic is special. He would work some Saturdays to button up a piece of the project or meet with us to discuss the next phase and what fixtures or elements we wanted. If Bill had a small question during the project he would call, text or email. If I had a small question about something I could call, text or email him at any time and get a timely response. Bill gave us an estimate and the project came in pretty close to that number, it would have been exact save for some changes we made during the construction. He told us it would take 3 months and it did. When we neared the two month point, he gave us a precise end date and he wrapped up on that date. While, it wasn?t necessarily fun living in a construction zone for three months, it was as good an experience as you could hope for. He stands behind his work and would come back out if anything needed his attention. We would not hesitate to hire Bill for anything that needed to be done around our house. You shouldn?t hesitate to hire him either. It also should be noted that while this is Bill?s first or second review on this site, he has been doing this type of work for several decades and staying busy by word of mouth, I know the many neighbors who recommended him to me would concur their similar experiences with him.
Description of Work: Bill was hired to build a substantial two story addition (850 sq. feet) to our home. The scope of work included excavation, framing, roofing, siding, electrical, drywall, trim, plumbing and installation of a full bathroom, a dedicated HVAC system, and details like a 20 foot high stone fireplace up the vaulted ceiling of the “great room.” Also the project included major renovation to our existing home which involved a total makeover of the kitchen, tear-down and new framing of walls and re-routing of some HVAC lines. Besides the actual construction, Bill provided design help throughout while working in consultation with the architect and garnering all the necessary township permits.

He said that I would end up needing insulation and he had to retro-fit some pieces since it was an old room. He was willing to talk over things and to coordinate his work with the others. He even tried to help us find a driveway guy. He was sincere and had good recommendations and references as well. He was able to do the smaller jobs which I thought was important.
Description of Work: We were getting an older room remodeled; repaired walls, dropped the ceiling, added insulation and fixed the ceiling.
