.My husband's not very happy with Just for Cats. I had an appointment for Thursday at 5.30 and one of my cats fell sick, she had an ear infection, so I called them and they said that instead of bringing one cat today, which was Tuesday and the other one on Thursday, I could bring them both in today at 5.30. I went there but I didn't see the vet until 10.06 and I was told that they have an appointment at 6 so we may have to wait to get our cats ear checked. She didn't even take 2 minutes, she didn't even know what to charge me, because she had been treating that ear with drops and she said that the ear looks nice and pink and my other cat was losing weight, so she thought he may have feline leukemia and I asked if it is contagious and she said yes and I asked if she could weigh my other cat because she doesn't eat that well either and if one has it, the other may have it as well, and she said she was running out of time and may not have time to weigh, I mean it takes her a minute to weigh the cat and then when she looked in the ear and the cat had inflammation of the ear the first time, gave him drop and took him back, she said he looks wonderful and all that and the third time we took him back to have his ear checked and she said it is inflamed again and I don't have an instrument that go down far enough to tell you if it is polyps or tumor, but she said she could give the name of the other guy who could do a biopsy for about 2000 dollars and I was shocked at the figure, I was already spending about a 1000 dollars on the other one and that was a liver disease. I had to go there this morning for blood staining which they didn't tell me would take about an hour and then I had to take him back home and feed him and bring him back and have the test done again. The receptionist did not tell me to feed him tuna and oil and they said if you can get the cat to eat tuna and oil, she said get him a tuna with oil. He took about 4 bites and he needed about 2 teaspoons of food, I had to force him to eat using my hand. and then about 20 minutes before I was supposed to take him back, he ate about 2 bites and I drove him all the way back and they told me that the two bites would not be enough, so I had to leave him and now I am waiting for them to call me back for me to pick him up. My husband is very smart and twice now, she told him that the cat was very very aggressive, when he goes to Vets with dogs and other animals, he gets petrified but since this is only cats he considers cats predators, so they had to muzzle him, he has never acted like that before. I think that it makes sense, and she told him that he was so aggressive that 2 assistants had to hold him down while she took his temperature rectally and couldn't do it. When I took him back, I said my husband said you couldn't take the temperature rectaly, can you do it in the ear too and she said that she had taken his temperature rectaly and it was 100 point something and my husband said, why would I come home and tell you that? Then another time she said we would have to take the cat to the university of Pennsylvania, and when I asked her about it, she said she hadn't said anything like that and my husband was very upset about that. The receptionist is nice, she calls me back. I think Just for Cats is cheaper than other vets. She is doing as much she can, and I think she is just too busy so sometimes she forgets. She goes way above and beyond in terms of dealing with cat insurance companies. She fills out all paperwork and gives them all notes. Her and the staff are always calling me back, and telling me the cheapest place to buy the cat food we like. I think she's being very conscientious now. The service is so good from the staff.
