Distinctive Designers & Builders

The price depends on the type of deck and it was not much. They did a great job. We had 4 companies quote on our deck and they were the only one who actually came up with a creative design. They really put a lot of thought and that’s what’s nice.

Bob was helpful throughout the project. He designed the project and provided great suggestions we were not aware of to enhance the project. Good communication and high quality construction. I am sure the new deck will out last me. We love the result and used it all summer and the new shower is perfect. We learned of the company through a friend and have already recommended them to a neighbor that wants a deck like ours.

Over the summer, I contacted 9 different companies/individuals to get an estimate on replacing our wooden deck floor and railings with composite materials. They all came to measure and talk to me about what I wanted but only 2 ever gave me an estimate. This company was one of those two. It did take a while to get the estimate. Their estimate was double that of the other estimate I received. Because I was only able to obtain two estimates and they varied so greatly, I do not know if Distinctive Decks' estimate was reasonable or not. Out of sheer frustration, we have decided to put this project on hold and work on another home improvement project. However, we may contact them again in the future depending on the results of other estimates that we will hopefully be able to obtain.

We were extremely happy with all aspects of service provided by Distinctive Decks and Builders. We were excited to be able to see our screen room in a 3D image prior to making our final decision; this service really helped us visualize the end product. Our screen room turned out beautiful! It allows us to enjoy our backyard for three seasons of the year without being annoyed by bugs. We actually added a small fireplace to the room so we can enjoy it well into the fall. Since we were so impressed with the screen room, we hired Distinctive Decks and Builders to tackle the other projects in our house. Bob, the owner and designer provided us with a lot of "out of the box" design ideas that we hadn't thought of but made a huge difference in our interior living space. Every detail such as the crown molding, trim work, painting, and lighting was beautifully executed and exceeded our expectations. We plan to hire Distinctive Decks and Builders to remodel our basement in the future.

We now have a great family room (where the garage was), a totally upgraded kitchen (where the dining room was), a new home office area (where the kitchen was) and a new powder room (where there had been a closet!). As with any major renovation, there are inconveniences - especially when the kitchen is involved. But, they helped us in every way they could. We were able to remain in our home during the whole process. We are extremely happy with the final result and would highly recommend Distinctive Decks and Builders for any home renovation project you have in mind.

Bob, owner, is very communicative, up front. Son led construcion, daughter runs office. True family business. Construction was completed on tine and within budget. Details are not forgotten. If i had a need, I would absolutely call again.

Distinctive Decks installed a beautiful Ipe Deck with Ipe Railings and Aluminum balusters at our home. From start to finish they were professional,timely, and honest. They addressed our concerns with thoughtful design options. The finished product has exceeded our expectations and we could not be happier. The work crew was very friendly and respectful and cleaned up the worksite regularly. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the deck is fantastic. Since completion we've had many people complement the deck and the aesthetic of the design details.
