The finished kitchen is wonderful! The design ideas they offered were better than expected. The crews they sent were very professional and helpful. There was a flaw in the original granite and they had it replaced without us even asking! Great!

It started really fast, but I had to leave for a few days, which meant that the team had to start with another project. This unfortunately slowed the process, however the contractors did their best to find time to work on my project. Kyle did a great job finishing every small thing, sometimes working long hours. I am very happy with the results.

Executive is the most professional company I have ever dealt with, and the quality of their work is outstanding. My elderly father moved into my house, and we needed some renovations to accommodate another adult. This included adding a full bath and converting a ‘all season’ room into a family room connected to the house. Steve was one of the only guys who actually listened to us when we were describing what we wanted to do. He took his time in planning and made sure all our requests were part of the project. The work took place Dec 2017 - Jan 2018. The two gentlemen who headed up the job, Bill and Kyle were extremely professional and polite. They communicated with us daily, keeping us updated and thoroughly explaining any issues that came up. We never had any concerns with anyone who was with Executive being at our house. We were equally happy with any of their subs/contactors (electrician, carpets, granite etc etc). With any large renovation, things came up, and we were given through explanations of what it was and what was going to be done. I can honestly say we had no bad experiences with Executive. The work itself it beautiful. These guys really took their time. I've had experience with a 'local guy' finishing a basement in a house I previously lived at. There were corners cut, and we got what we paid for. Executive definitely wasn't the cheapest, buy I have zero regrets with choosing them. I firmly believe the work was done right the first time. There were materials that came in damaged, and it was damage that I probably wouldn't have noticed, but Bill and Kyle saw it, and made sure those materials were not used. Even the township inspectors commented on the quality of work Executive does.

We worked directly with Steve from Executive to design and build an addition to our home He offered great ideas to come in on budget and was able to provide guidance, which was great because we really had no idea what we wanted other then a family room. Every one who worked on the project was courteous and respectful, with the exception of one landscaper who used our backyard as a toilet... but we can let that one slide. Steve was very responsive to my questions through the project. He was very respectful of our time, getting in and out as soon as possible. With twins on the way, we needed this to go smoothly and it did, exceeding our expectations.

I was so happy with this company and how beautiful my bathroom turned out. This job was worth every cent we paid. They did everything we asked without complaint or argument. If there were additional charges, we were notified before making a decision. Everyone was responsive by phone or email when contacted. The only opportunity I felt there was for improvement was within the internal office communication between different departments/employees, but any confusion was always worked out timely and communication between company and client was always stellar. Tim, our project manager, was terrific and had a commitment to excellence that was refreshing. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

Good. Very happy with the end result. Took a week longer than the original estimate. But I was very happy with the responsiveness of Vince and Mike, the main guys that I was dealing with. Very professional. Even their sub contractors were good.

The work was performed 3 years ago. In addition to not performing all of the work contacted, They installed a damaged tub and crooked/ uneven tile and refused to replace either. I have had to have the plumbing in the shower and sink fixed by other providers and now the "new " drainage for the toilet is leaking. I have finally saved enough to have the tub removed and replaced. Beyond the professional quote, I have had nothing but problems from the work performed.

Excellent experience from start to finish, Matt provided a detailed estimate that was on par with all other estimates and provide good design suggestion. it took the crew about 2 1/2 weeks to replace all the 1 st floor floors and finish the basement. all the crew and contractor were professional and polite. We are very happy with the results!!!

TL; DR: Executive did good work and delivered a product that looks great and meets our expectations. I'd definitely hire them again! Overall, it went really well. The site leads (Vince and Mike) were friendly, communicative, and responsive to my questions and concerns. They let us know where they were at with the renovation and helped make the change order process clear. They gave us clear deadlines for the payments and fixture choices, and were within a few days of their own self-imposed renovation deadlines. The work did take longer than proposed, but we worked with an outside vendor for flooring, and it was the flooring vendor who bottlenecked the process. The crews they brought in to do the drywall, electric, and painting were top-notch. I especially appreciated the electric crew, who had to rewire the entire basement (a rarity - usually they can just work with the existing wiring) and didn't price gouge us for it. I'm pleased with the work quality. We have a couple of sticky doors, but the basement is humid, so that's to be expected, to some degree. I'm interested to see how they'll work in the winter. The floors, bathroom, walls, and ceiling all look phenomenal. We only had one small "redo", which occurred when some welding sparks singed the newly carpeted steps. I worked with Vince, Mike, and Steve to determine a way forward, and the carpet ended up being replaced.

WOW. What else can I say? From start to finish, these guys were a class act all the way. Steve, the owner, runs a tight ship and it shows. We had our own "project manager" (great job, Tim, and thanks, Vince for being backup) throughout which kept things running smoothly, and I always had a point of contact. The level of engagement and accountability was excellent--I could always reach who I needed to when I needed to, and they were all great at getting back to me when I contacted them. The first time I met with Steve to talk about the project, I made suggestions and gave ideas that were a little out of the box, and he listened carefully and took my ideas seriously without brushing them off because he didn't want to do them or because he thought I didn't know what I was talking about. Of course, things changed in the project and got added on, and they were able to accommodate that, though I'm sure it cut into the next job they had scheduled after mine. They did have subs for parts of the project, but all their subs were responsive, polite, and did a fantastic job (the painters in particular). I never felt like there were random people wandering in and out of my house who I didn't know or didn't trust. The price was about what I would have anticipated for the level of quality I got--in fact, I received a level of quality and attentiveness that may even have exceeded what I paid. We had a bad experience with a contractor a few years ago (not on Angie's List--I learned my lesson), so it was a delightful surprise to experience a contracting company that operates the way one should. Updated Review 03/28/2017 I've left my previous review in for comparison. While the initial job seemed to be really good we have continued to have problems and have not been happy with the follow up service. Some things have been handled well, and others not. After a month or so it was clear that the grading in our master bath was not right. Mike came out and fixed it promptly. There were small issues that we discovered over time, for instance the master bathroom door hadn't been completely installed, but in a way that wasn't noticable (at the top of the door). The big problem happened in January when our kids bath stopped working and the handheld sprayer in our master bath also basically stopped working. I contacted the main office and they said they would contact our project manager, Matt, who then never responded. This was consistently a problem with Matt during the job too. Luckily my wife had Mike's contact info, and as usual he was very responsive. He came out, but needed a plumber to fix the problem. They claimed the issue had something to do with our hot water heating system, which our primary plumbers disagreed with. They "fixed" the problems, but in the process broke the connection to our kitchen sink, and charged us for the work. I have fixed or am going to fix the other small problems that they haven't because it will take me less time than dealing with them. They should stand behind their work and be more responsive than they were on this job. Mike is the saving grace for this company. Without Mike I think this review would have turned out a lot worse. I initially talked to 10 contractors over the phone, that had great ratings on Angie's List, and then had 4 of them come out to give us detailed estimates. Here are the things that set EB apart.
- They don't use subcontractors, everyone works for them. - We knew this job was going to take a month or more, and this went a long way to helping us feel comfortable having contractors in the house.
- Their quote was very detailed and professional. - I knew there were things that I wanted to upgrade ahead of time. This gave me an accurate comparison with the other contractors' labor costs, and to make sure I wasn't over paying for the upgrades.
- Their showroom was convenient and had good pricing.
- Matt did a great job of helping us with our options, and told us up front what would drive the cost up.

Overall, the experience went as positively as I could have expected. We had 4 different contractors come to our house to give estimates. Of everyone who came over, we felt the most comfortable with Steve from EB&R as he seemed most concerned with what we wanted and wanted to make sure we were completely set on the design before starting. EB&R was not the cheapest or the most expensive option (though it was a fairly tight range of quotes), but we decided to go with them given our comfort with Steve.
Steve was very helpful through the whole design process and met with us on several occasions at his showroom to help us pick everything (we were a bit indecisive) and we liked the photographic renderings he sent us to visualize what the bathroom would ultimately look like.
Tim managed our project and was very professional and punctual. We felt comfortable with Tim, which is important as he was at our house all day without us. Everything came together well and to my surprise the project was completed within the window we were initially given.

We had issues with the time it took to complete the project, mostly due to the delivery of the entry door and window, not to our specifications. Much of this involved the relationship between the contractor and the window/door provider (Pella), and each blaming the other for the problem.
The back sliding door was is great. No problems with the door (Pella door) or installation.
Here was the problems with the door and window in the front of the house. First, we went with Pella because they were the only company that made the entry door and window with mini-blinds between the glass. That is what we wanted. In addition to the contractor researching who made these, I also did. And, I could only find Pella making these windows.
We signed the contract early May 2015. Everything was completed in November 2015. Based on what was told to us in the beginning project should have taken about 6 weeks: 3-4 weeks for the door, sidelight, and window to be made, and a week or so for installation. (the sliding door in the back was bought from Lowes, no need to make a custom sliding door).
So, why such a long time to completion:. First, it took Pella almost 2 months to complete the window and door. The contractor installed, then we noticed two problems: First, the door with sidelight we cream colored, not white which we had asked for. We then found out when a Pella sub-cntractor came out several weeks later, that the door and sidelight were only primed, not finished with white paint.
The other problem had to do with the Window. The window was tinted with green (argon), which we did not ask for.
A few weeks later a rep from Pella came out. He agreed to replace the window with clear glass, which took another 4 weeks.
The contractor and Pella each blamed each other. The Executive Rep said he ordered white for the door and sidelight and clear glass for the window. The Pella Rep said the Executive rep ordered unfinished for the door and sidelight. In all honesty, I can't see why the Executive Rep would order an unfinished door, as they would have to paint the door and sidelight (which they did), therefore, more work for them. As a result, I tend to believe the Executive Builders Rep that it was Pella's fault. But, I really don't know for sure. I tried to reach the Executive Builder Rep to talk about what he ordered, but he was no longer with the company. I had also asked previously for a copy of the order to Pella to see what was ordered, but never received it.
The work itself was good, with some exceptions. There were two people on the job: Mike the project leader and another person who is also no longer with the company. The other person did some of the painting. In the back there were a few small drops of paint on the inside floor which were not cleaned up. I just cleaned it up myself. He didn't use a drop cloth. The painting on the outside frame in the front was somewhat sloppy in that some of the paint got on the stone surrounding the frame, as well as on the footer that had been installed. Before they finished up weeks later, they were able to get this paint off the stone. Mike and the new person who finished the painting did a good job.
In addition to all the time this small job took (6-7 months), we were not happy that Pella would not give us a new entry door as well as a new window. The reason being that the factory finish is spray painted, and our door and sidelight ended up being brush painted. So, if you look hard you can see the brush marks.
Another factor in the time it took to complete the project was each company blaming the other for not returning calls and emails on a timely basis.
Based on all the excellent reviews for Executive Builders here on Angies List, I'm thinking our case was far from the norm. In all fairness I think I need to say that. I think it was a bad experience everyone involved. I asked Pella for a refund, and we got a $100.00 refund, not much considering the cost of the door and window. At the end, I asked Executive Builders for a refund and I think we got a $200.00 refund. I say, I think, because the invoice for the final payment was @ $200 less then the previous final invoice. In other words, we owed @ $200 less on the final payment.

I contacted executive a few months back to get a bid. Tim was my sales guy. He was on time and gave me a bid promptly for what I wanted. I got 3 other bids but went with executive because they were competitive in price and Tim's timeliness of response was much better than the other companies.
I finished my basement and had them put in a full bar, home theater, full bath, bedroom, game area, and lounge area. I'm extremely happy with how everything turned out.
Mike was my project person. I had some changes throughout the process and Mike was great to work with because he did a great job communicating with me to make sure I was happy.
Everyone from Executive Builders was great to work with and I would recommend them.

One of the better experiences I have had dealing with a contractor. The project manager Charlie was easy to work with and his team did a great job. They were able to accommodate us when we decided to make changes to the job and went the extra mile to make sure the entire project ran smoothly and was what we wanted. They were very professional, punctual, communicated well, and quickly completed the work. Fantastic job and I would definitely contact them again if in need of a contractor.

Overall, we were very pleased with the end product. Executive's owner Steve Varrasse was very professional and courteous from the initial pre-construction discussion. Executive ensured all permits were pulled prior to construction, I know because I called and corroborated with the township's L&I board the day before work began. Executive's team was wonderful onsite. They were all professional, courteous, well spoken, knowledgeable and clean (well as clean as a construction site can be). I especially enjoyed having the project manager, Gene White, who was a pleasure to work with. He kept us abreast on all important updates, change orders and scheduling. Oliver (carpenter) and James (plumber) were also great. Oliver is very knowledgeable and great at what he does, I can't say enough good things about him. Executives subcontractors were great too. We felt good about the electrician's and painters' work. The final product was quality, we have no complaints. I will definitely use Executive for my future home construction and remodeling.
