49.95 State Inspection and Emissions I thought that was a good deal. I called to see if they had time. They gave me a appointment the same day @ 3pm.
I got there @ 3 I asked if they could do an oil change as well. They could. I asked them how long it would take they told me about
one hour and a half. I told them that I would pick it up later. I returned about 5pm paid for the service. I asked them if I could pick the car up later around 7pm they said sure. I asked them to lock the keys in the car. They put the keys under the mat out of sight. Perfect! I pick up the car @ 7pm go home and put the car in the garage. Just as I am about to go in the house something told me to look at the stickers on the windshield. Sure enough my instincts were right. They did not put on the new inspection sticker!
I called the shop right away. I spoke to an employee that was very nice but did not know why the sticker was not put on.
He told me that he was going to leave a note explaining the problem. I was fine with that. I got a little worried that maybe my car failed the inspection and that I was wrong. I called in the morning. I was told yes your car passed the inspection and that he did not know why the sticker was not put on. I never got an apology. They just said bring it back today and I will take care of it.
I brought it back around 3pm. I took a walk to rite aid down the street. When I came back about thirty minutes later an employee met me at my car and gave me the keys. I was on my way. I don't use this car very often. I parked the car until Mother's Day.
I used the car on Sunday to visit my parents. My parents live about a hour away. I pulled into my parents driveway I heard this loud noise under the car.
Thought that I ran over a tree branch. I got out and found that the splash guard under the engine was hanging down.
When they changed the oil they must not have put the push pins back in. I had to use a bungie cord to keep it from dragging.
I never in my life had such a miserable experience with car service.
I will never return to Strolh Automotive Service for any reason.
I fixed the splash guard myself. I bought fifteen push pins for five bucks.
They ALWAYS give me a next day appointment if I really need one and they complete the job when promised. Their estimates are always on target.
I rarely take it there without getting a call suggesting a bunch of other work be done in addition to the original problem, but I guess it is part of their job to identify other problems with the car and I usually own old cars that need lots of work so I appreciate Strohl's observations and recommendations.
Their prices are fair and reasonable.
Every one of their staff seems friendly, accommodating and helpful. I don't usually buy used cars from car dealers, but my experience with their staff leads me to consider buying a car off their lot someday.
