Quality of care for our pet(s) is of the utmost importance to us. We began using Montgomery Animal Hospital in the 1980s for our two cats. When Gepetto and Nutmeg passed away, we went for years without a pet (wait, what? How'd  that happen anyway?).
We adopted a rescue a 3 year old dog (Havanese) a few years ago and, quite frankly, we did not even consider taking him anywhere but MAH.
The vets are excellent, knowledgeable and always spend time with you to ensure your understanding is commensurate with your pet's condition. Thanks much, Dr. Schrader...and don't even think of retiring.

Our family's pets have been cared for by Dr. Schrader and his team for decades. We've received only friendly and compassionate care for our dogs from puppyhood through eldercare. I have never hesitated to recommended Montgomery Animal Hospital to friends looking for professional treatment for their beloved animals.

Doctor was very professional and explained cat's condition in detail. Made recommendations.

This place is wonderful. Every staff member knows our dogs - really knows them and is caring and concerned. When we started going there we had four dogs. Last November we had to put our eldest and quot;to sleep.and quot; It was a very emotional time of course and the staff was wonderful. We received a card with a hand-written note from each staff member. Both vets are great - caring and knowledgable.
In February, one of our little dogs had a stroke - we didn't know it at the time; all we knew was that he could only move one paw. Dr. Lutke was kind, compassionate and caring. He referred us to Metropolitan for specialty services and checked in with us almost every day. The stroke (an FCE) fully resolved itself in a couple of weeks without any treatment but it was a nerve-racking time and we really felt cared for. We have also boarded our dogs there. Unlike other places, they have returned without needing to adjust. In other words, there are no stomach upsets, no anxiety and just the usual need for extra cuddles. We adore this place and cannot speak highly enough of the two vets and the entire staff.

The vet overdosed the cat, and I brought him back. The doctor gave him a blood test, and he said that he had diabetes, and had kidney failure. I decided to have a second opinion and turns out the doctor had overdosed my cat on the steroid which caused his blood sugar to spike temporarily. The insulin that I was giving the cat did cause renal failure and spent thousands of dollars between this hospital and the another hospital. So, all of this happened because of this doctors one mistake. When I confronted the vet about my findings he was indifferent and didn't try to rectify the situation. I would not use them again, and I strongly suggest that other not use them either.

We really feel that this doctor and his staff are nice people. They take care of the animals they watch over and they are very professional and always follow up.
