Mulkern Roofing

I am 61 Y.O. and have dealt with many roofers and contractors over the years. Many of them exceptional. But Dan Mulkern and his crew top the list, by far, as the nicest, but more importantly, the most competent contractor I have EVER dealt with. Dan and his crew arrived and got right to work replacing my roof power vent fan. Watching them I noticed they took extra but very simple step for safety. I asked Dan if while he was here on the roof and had the ladder out, if he could fix a few other issues on my home not related to the roof. He happily agreed and did that work with more skill and detail than I could have done. Once Dan had the roof power vent in, it worked but the fan would not automatically turn off with the humidistat and thermostat. Dan arranged for an electrician to come to my home the next day. There ended up being an issue in the new fan’s controls, but the electrician quickly found the issue and corrected it. Dan followed up with me numerous times to confirm the electrician will contact me to set up an appointment and then to confirm the electrician did call. He also called to confirm the electrician’s work was done and to my satisfaction. I have never had a contractor stay in touch and keep me updated on the process as much as Dan did. I could not be happier with the work Dan Mulkern did for me. I have never felt a higher level of trust for a contractor as I do for Dan and his company. I rarely recommend anyone to friends and have never written an online review, but I will have no problem recommending Mulkern Roofing.

An odd-weather spring caused delays in their availability, but the job was done well & efficiently when weather permitted. It was worth the wait & I have already recommended them to co-workers & neighbors.

I called on a Friday morning expecting them to say that they would come out sometime the next week when it would be safer and snow might have melted off the roof. Instead, a worker arrived in just over an hour. He shoveled an area outside to place a ladder, then climbed to the roof, shoveled off snow, found where a large ice dam had formed, and then spent about four hours hammering and chipping away at it. The owner showed up during the project to make sure it was going well, and then also called in the evening to be certain the problem was solved. Despite being an emergency call, the final bill was far, far less than I had expected.

Dan and his team did an excellent job. He is extremely professional, courteous, and listens to his customer’s needs. Can’t say enough nice things about him and his team. You will be hard pressed to find a better roofing company. They repaired flashing and installed an attic vent for us. Thank you again!

It went really well, and they did a great job. The crew has been with the company for a long time. The owner came out to make sure everything was done right. They were really efficient, and cleaned up great.

We were very pleased with every aspect of our project! Dan the owner is very professional, responsive and extremely detail oriented. It follows that his crew would be careful, neat, polite and efficient...and they were. We were impressed with the entire experience from our initial contact with Dan, the responsiveness of his office manager, to the pride his workers take in their jobs (including the above and beyond clean up at the end). The communication process was excellent from start to finish. This company came highly recommended to us and we see why. We can't speak to follow up because we have had no issues, but we have every confidence that we will receive the same great service if we ever need anything . Our new roof looks great and we are happy to write this review.

He is wonderful.  He is a fantastic business man.  He came out immediately and thoroughly explained everything to me.  He jumped right on my roof and found what needed to be done.  I would highly recommend him. 

It was a first class quality and exceptional workmanship.  They were neither the cheapest nor the most expensive because I had around five quotes, and they were right in my price range that's why I went with them.  They also came highly recommended from another source.  They were very professional.  Mr. Mulkern, the owner of the company was on the roof every day.  He was working right with his manner.  He wasn't one of his deals where he has a bunch of people; he drops them off and runs around from job to job.  He was here every day working with his men.  All the guys were very professional, very courteous, and very meticulous.  They cleaned up after themselves, and I didn't have to lift a finger.  They picked up every little nail and piece of paper.  They were very good.  I got a fair price because there was a lot of work involved.  I got a good-quality grade of all this Corning shingle.  They did the ice guard.  They have used good brand aluminum, and they didn't use the cheap stuff.  I got all good quality materials, and they added a new roof vent.  They also exhausted my bathroom fan up to the roof.  He always returned our phone calls.  He gave me his cell phone number; in case I don't get hold of him in the office then I can get him on the cell phone.  They were here 7'o clock every morning, and they didn't leave until 4:30 or 5 in the evening.  They completed the job in 4 days.  He came here three times before he did the job.  He came down and sat on the back porch with my wife and me.  We went over all the options.  He had everything in writing.  It was all typed up, really nice, and professional.  We signed the contract, and heard one of the 1/3 rd down the start, and rest on the completion of the job.  I am very pleased with them, and I will definitely recommend to anybody for the roofing job.

Dan and his crew were there bright and early and worked a full day(s). Dan kept me in the loop as to the surprises that were found as they stripped the roof,as we knew there would be as the gararge is 80+ years old, and my options to correct them. They worked clean and neat and I couldn't be happier with the job. This is the 5th roof I've had Dan and his company do for me over the years and I recommend them without reservation.
