After 7 weeks of runaround, they still haven't installed the part needed on my pool heater. I was told 7 different times that they would be out to complete the work, but all were no-shows. Only twice out of the 7 times did they call to say they weren't coming. This is all after it took weeks for them to come out the first time to diagnose the problem. There were multiple no-shows that time, too. Now it's almost time to close the pool and I haven't had a properly working heater all summer, so we haven't been able to use our spa. The worst customer service I have ever experienced.

.Unfortunately, when I called them to do the annual service for the
generator I got a month long runaround.  I finally gave up on them and
cancelled.  Got no explanation or apology.  Was told by an incredulous
man that the service was "free."  I don't recall anyone mentioning that
before, but in this case, it is evident that you get what you pay for.  I
cancelled and scheduled another contractor to come out and do the
service.  Will never use them again.  They treat you like they're doing
you a favor.

Then when the new contractor came out, he found that they had removed the hose that is needed to change the oil.  So they have to order me a hose before they can do it.   Thanks to Morton, what should have been a single phone call and visit has turned into 6 weeks and counting of aggravation.
Response from Morton Electric
"when she called, she was told that we would schedule her appointment when the kit from the factory arrived. the hose was on the generator, unless the factory forgot it. we did not notice this because we where not changing the oil at the installation time."

It went well.  We have used them twice now.  They really know what they are doing with hot tubs.  We have recommended them to our friends and they use them now as well.

The work was good quality - but every thing else was a hassle. We chased these guys for everything - they have a very disorganized office and trying to get a definitive time/date when someone will show up is a nightmare. We ended up calling techs on cell phones to get info - no body at the office can tell you anything. When the job was almost done - we thought they would put the final touches on it - by cleaning up the pool - we had to go find another group to do that at the last minute - we are happy to be done with it - the pool looks great but it was all much harder than it should have been and took a lot longer too. This is a good company to use if you have no timeline in mind.

I originally hired these guys to do a Spa purchase and install.  The first problem I ran into was the need for a crane to hoist the spa on to the porch.  After discussions, I had to find the crane operator and make those arrangements.  Once the spa was ordered I waited about a month before it arrived.  During that time I had to chase after Morton Electric for a status.  Apparently they went away on vacation and forgot to alter their answering machine to let customers know.
The tub delivery was another problem.  They were supposed to call before arriving and I was told around 6pm.  At 8:30 pm I heard a noise in my yard and went out to see what was going on. The tub was being dropped off at the end of my driveway... no one announced themselves when they arrived and there was obviously no phone call.
The next day the crane people came to put the spa up.  First there was an argument over who straps the spa to the crane and who guides it on the porch into place.  After some huffing and puffing Morton Electric finally assisted with the crane straps and the spa was up on the deck in no time.
Once it was up, there was the electrical to do.  Everything was run from the tub to the main panel in the basement.  At first they tried to get the other electrician (basement renovation) to do the final hook up, but I wouldn't allow it and made Morton Electric finish the job they were paid for.   After they finished they forgot to call the 3rd party electric inspector and I had to chase them down for that.
Part of my order included a hydrolic lift for the cover.  When they did the install, and I asked about the cover, everyone was confused and had no idea what I was talking about.  2 weeks later I received the lift from them (after chasing them down again with phone calls) only to find out it doesn't fit right and they have to come back with some parts to fix it.
Well, 2 weeks after that I'm calling and they promise to call me back and don't.  I STILL haven't heard from them regarding the lift and I've COMPLETELY GIVEN UP on any hope they will actually finish the job.
Not only have they been unprofessional the entire process, it has been a constant battle to get them to show up by appointment without griping and moaning about it.  CONSTANTLY they ask "Can't we just come out and do the work when we have time?"
I highly recommend DO NOT USE THESE GUYS.  30 years in the business and they can't return a phone call.

UPDATE 7/15/2013:  I got call from Morton Electric this morning.  Apparently my post here on angies list FINALLY got their attention.  Instead of taking the time to address the problems, fix the issues and get my review to be updated as a result in a POSITIVE manner, they made things FAR WORSE.

The call started with "We are coming to pick up the cover."  When I asked why?  First it was "They don't make a cover lift that fits your hot tub."  When I asked about the attachment pieces they apparently were supposed to have ordered the response was "Well, your Angies List post wasn't very nice." at which point I asked "Is it they don't have a lift or is it you don't like my Angies list post so you are going to just ditch the job?"

The conversation eventually devolved into two people shouting at each other before I told him to go F himself and hung up.  As far as I'm concerned they can take their cover, but they are going to have to call to make an appointment to pick it up.   Something tells me they will just show up like they always do.

You would think a company trying to improve their standing on this service would make efforts to address the problem rather than make things worse by treating the customer so poorly.  After looking at a review from February that was so poor, I am wishing I had waited to see more reviews and saved myself so much headache.

Getting the hot tub fixed took 4-5 trips and 10 weeks.  Appointments were delayed or canceled and when the tub was finally fixed, the piece waited for  (that added an extra 2-3 week wait) ended up not being used and the original service - a cleaning - was done again and the tub was fixed.  Everytime they came I got the impression that the next customer was where they really needed to be.
Response from Morton Electric
"Thank you for your review. We take great pride in our family owned business. We have been a service provider for over 30 years and have received AMAZING reviews based on our customer service as well as our knowledge. Being a family run business, we can offer our low prices, which have stayed the same since 2008. We provided this customer with a spa cleaning. Upon reviewing our diagnostic reports, the customer opted to fill the tub herself, which our providers offer the option to have us wait or you can fill the tub yourself. By opting to fill the tub yourself, customers are not charged the additional hourly surcharge. The providers left at the home owners dismissal. We received a phone call within 24 hours and our service providers were sent out immediately. Upon arriving, the spa was checked. We do speak with our customers to find out more information such as "When was the last time you replaced your filters?" This customer stated that the filters were "brand new." Our service provider checked the circulating pump and found that it did not have enough pressure. We did order a new pump. This particular pump was a special order item, which was explained to the customer. Normal turn around time for parts is 10 business days pending if that item is in stock. This particular part was not in stock, which then exceeded the usual 10 business days. The customer was notified that the part was taking a bit longer and once the part arrived, we would set up installation. When we installed the pump, we noticed that the pump was still not pumping properly. We then did a further diagnostic and thoroughly inspected the filters and discovered that the filters did appear not "brand new." Upon further investigation, we then explained to the customer that the filters appeared to be older than she stated. This customer than said that the filters were over 2 years old, which would not be "brand new." We happily issued a refund and reinstalled the customers pump with a full cleaning and offered new filters. The customer stated that she would purchase her own filters. We do not rush from job to job as we allow several hours dedicated to each customer. We hope that in the future we can repair our relationship with this customer as we offer the best service in the area as well as the lowest prices. As an honest family owned business, we offered a full refund."

Morton was the 4th contractor we contacted to look at our system. The first 3 companies either never got back to us or told us they could not do the job. Morton called us back the same day we left them a message. We set a date and time for them to come and evaluate the problem. The tech showed up on time and seemed very knowledgeable. He suggested several possible solutions and explained the pros and cons of each. He charged for the service call but told me it would be applied to our bill if we decided to have them do the job. (and yes , he kept his word without being reminded by me.) The tech promised to get back to us with an estimate which he did within a few days. We accepted the proposal over the phone and set a date for installation. Guess what ??? AGAIN, THEY SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD !!! The job was done in a reasonable amount of time and the system is working perfectly. The crew left a clean work area took the time to explain the operation instructions. The price we were charged was the same as the estimate. No additional costs were added to the job. They obviously knew what they were doing and made the estimate fair and accurate. More and more, We find that when we use a contractor who is not afraid to put his own name on his truck, we get a reputable company that keeps it's promises and satisfies his customers.

Normally, an electrician will make you wait sometimes in excess of a week before he can come out and help you, but after we explained our situation to this contractor and the fact that our pool needed to be continuously moving because of the chemicals, etc., he knew this was important and came right out the next morning. They did a perfect job of replacing the box and we were really grateful to them for this.

"from morton electric back in 10/05 we installed a new sub panel along with running the wires from the basement to the attic, installed the new fans with new boxes and wired a new light in a closet. i think he should rephrase his remarks to read the entire job that was done for him. he also does not live at the address on the form. he lives at glennifer hill rd. in richboro, pa."
