LIGHT WORLD

BUYERS BEWARE! I purchased a dining room light fixture. The salesmen gave me complete wrong information costing me $200 more than it should have. I told the salesmen my current fixture was 350 watts of light and did not want a light that had less brightness. The new fixture was 280 watts but had halogen bulbs. He said because they were halogen the light would be the same. I also asked if this fixture worked on a dimmer. He said yes. Given this info I bought the fixture. Before taking it home, i checked the box and one of the shades were cracked. They said they would order me a new light. When the new light came in, I checked that and it too was cracked, so they took a shade from the first light fixture. After purchasing the light, I contacted the manufacturer and asked if my current dimmer would work and they said it would not. I needed to purchase a new electronic dimmer since this fixture had a transformer. The new dimmer cost $125. After the electrician installed the light, we found out that 3 set screws (they hold the wires from falling) were missing. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me the missing screws. The light now installed is not as bright as my old light. In fact it was much duller that i did not need a dimmer because I would never dim this since it was not bright enough on the highest setting. Wasted $125!! I contacted Light World and spoke with the owner who assured me that she would work something out. A couple of weeks went by and I believe I was getting the run around from her because she did absolutely nothing to remedy this problem. In the end it worked out because the light manufacturer stepped in and resolved everything. But only through my contacts. It cost me another $75 to have a second electrician come and re-install a new light. The first electrician cost $175. The store did absolutely nothing!!! So if you want to be given wrong information just to make a sale, then this is the place to go.

WE PICKED OUT OUR CEILING FAN LONG DISTANCE AND THE SALES GIRL WAS REALLY HELPFUL. SHE E-MAILED ME PICTURES OF DIFFERENT FANS AND TOLD ME WHAT WOULD FIT BEST IN OUR SIZE ROOM. THE INSTALLERS DID A GREAT JOB.
