GEORGE'S CUSTOM PAINTING

I contacted the painter in early June to paint 3 sets of French doors. I told the painter the urgency of getting it done soon as possible since I was leaving at the end of July. I told him that if he was too busy to just say so and I would get someone else. He said he was extremely busy painting a school, but he would be able to fit me in since my job was a small job and could be done quickly. The painter drew up a proposal. I accepted it via phone. However after weeks went by, he said he needed the signed proposal. So I emailed a signed copy back to him. Every time I asked when he would start, he kept stalling, I believe intentionally to buy time to finish his other project(s). The painter had SEVERAL opportunities to tell me I won't be scheduled until payment is received (via snail mail) He could have said, "I need payment via mail before I can SCHEDULE you". Instead, each week the painter led me to believe that he would start my job. I had the paint ready to go. However, when I didn't hear from him, I contacted him and he said he needed 1/3 payment by mail BEFORE he could even schedule me! I had intended to pay him 1/3 upon arrival like I have done with other contractors.. So I was waiting for his arrival which never happened. I had spoken to him several times on the phone and had been in correspondence with him for a minor change: To paint a strip between the doors instead of the entire door. So today, when I asked for a status, and expressed the urgency, he wrote: "All you had to do was read the contract to know what to do - I don't know why you're blaming me when you just had to read and send the paper work and the deposit. Sorry it took so long on my end but you changed your mind twice on what you wanted done. I'm not interested in working for you. Sorry for the inconvenience". STUPID me for waiting on 1 painter when I could've had it done by now! This painter was obviously very busy and didn't give a d*** about my urgency. Instead of just saying, "I'm too busy now, get someone else", he led me on knowing full well that he could not fit me in his schedule. Now I'm at the last minute trying to find a painter. Stupid, foolish me for going along with his nonsense for almost a month of stalling. Lesson well learned! If you call this painter, beware of his stall tactics.

He is very professional and responsive for scheduling. He arrives promptly. His workmanship is very neat.
