When I recieved the bills, I called Mr Polohonki and questioned why they were so far over the estimate of $1400.. He had no good explaination and after a heated disagreement, he agreed to cut the bill, which totaled $2228.79and that he would be at our house in 20 minutes for a check. He was there in 15 minutes and I gave him a check for $2000. A few days later I realized our Malibu lights were not working and found that the had broken the controller for the lights and also the latticework to which it was attached. They also dug up a large shrub and it was not replaced properly. Two weeks later I called Mr Polohonki and told him our water was still cloudy and that I had to replace the inner workings of our toilets twice because of the dirt. He said that the water had to settle. I asked him about a whole house water filter and he said that wouldn't help. He would not come out. On 12/28/2012, we had no water. I made several calls to Mr Polohonki and left messages; I also called his co-worker, Fyock Plumbing and Heating, and neither one returnrd my calls. I then called Bloom Plumbing and Heating, and they came right out. They said the circuit breaker had been tripped, and after checking all the connections, they thought it could be because the upstairs toilet kept runnig due to the dirt, causing the pump to run too frequently. We shut off that toilet, I again replaced the inner workings, and crossed my fingers. That repair cost us $76.48. On 01/02/2013, we again had no water and the circuit breaker would not reset. I again called Blooms. They came out and pulled the pump and found that when the pump was put into the new well the wires were spliced in six different places. These splices let go and shorted out. I have the wire and you can see where the insulation is burned off. Bloom said the accepted practice is to replace the wiring when you reinstall a pump; they should never be spliced. The bill for this was $426.78. I will never use Polohonki Plumbing or Fyock again. I'm still debating whether or not to sue Mr Polohonki.
Description of Work: Our water well pressure dropped drastically, and we called Alan Polohonki to replace our pressure tank. He came and looked at it and told us it would be around $400 to replace it. We told him to go ahead. After the tank was replaced, he told us that the flow wasn't right and that he would have to pull the pump. He did so, and told us our well was going dry and that we would have to drill a new well. He said that after the well was drilled he would come back and run the wiring and water lines from the new well to the house. This involved digging a trench. We used the same pump that was in the old well, on Mr. Polohonki's advice. His estimate was $1000. The well was drilled the next day. Mr Polohonki then dug the trench and hooked up the new well to the old well connection to the house. He and two helpers arrived around 9am and finished around 5pm with an hour and a half break at lunchtime. He said he tested the water and it was very good. I questioned the amount of dirt and the brown color and he said that it would settle down in a few days. I recieved two bills - one for the pressure tank for $826.46, and one for connecting the well for $1402.33!!!
