Superior Motor Service

$2,775 saved.  Here's how.  I was leaving home to go to the store, but my car wouldn't start.  After several attempts at trying to start it, still nothing happened.  I called AAA and told them it sounded like battery trouble, so they sent a mechanic (not Superior) who was not driving a tow truck.  He hooked the cables up, but it didn't start.  He said it sounded like the fuel pump and would arrange for a tow truck.  He asked if I had a special place I would like it to be taken.  I gave him the name of where I wanted it towed because I have an account there (a nationally known auto service center).  Before he took the car, the mechanic with the tow truck tried to jump it.  It still didn't turn over and he agreed it sounded like a fuel pump.  The service center noted what the two mechanics said and tried to locate the problem by hooking it up for diagnostic analysis.  At first they were saying it might be the timing belt, but ruled that and the fuel pump out.  After more testing they said two of my cylinders had low compression or were dead so I needed an engine.  They said they do not rebuild engines, but located a used one they could install and with the cost of the engine, necessary fluids and parts (oil change, coolant system, spark plugs) and labor it would come to $2,775.  They did not try to pressure me into getting the work done, told me to think it over and said I could leave the car there for a week.  I decided to have the car towed back to my house and have my brother-in-law (who was away at the time) look at it and give me his opinion whether I should get a rebuilt or used engine.  So I called AAA back and asked them to tow my car back to my house.  This is where Superior Motor Service, Inc., comes in.  In less than 10 minutes, Luis called and said he would meet me in 10-15 minutes.  He was waiting at the service center when I got there.  As he was placing my car on his truck he said when he got the car back to my house he would like to take a shot at starting it.  I rode back with him and we had light conversation about my recent move to the area, oil prices and how big his work place is and the services they offer.  True to his word, as soon as he lowered the car in my driveway, he proceeded to solve the problem.  As soon as he lifted the hood he said it was exactly as he suspected.  One of my cables was extremely corroded (he showed me) and the battery was not making a connection.  He also suggested I put some fuel injection fluid in my gas because I might have gotten a bad batch.  Because the car hadn't started for a week it took three attempts before it turned over.  None of the other mechanics--the previous two AAA or service center ones had taken the time to clean the cables.  UNBELIEVABLE!  Luis advised me to get a battery from a store where they install it for free and ask them to clean my cables, which I did.  Thanks to him, $149 for my battery and the fuel injection and AAA's $4 towing fee is a long way from $2,775!          

My husband LOVES there lounge. Its so spacious and nice. They make you feel at home. I would recommend them to anybody. They do great work on cars and give honest prices.

They're a AAA provider and towed my car when my car overheated. I've had to call them several times. They've always arrived quickly. The drivers are courteous, clean, and well-spoken. They're well-coached in making conversation with their passengers so they feel comfortable during the ride to the shop.
I can always get in quickly, I've never felt over-charged. Once the problem has been fixed, it's fixed. I've never had to take it back because something wasn't done right. I'd been at a different shop and Superior quoted me a lower price for work than the first shop.
They have a very comfortable waiting area, coffee, two TV areas, Wi-Fi. They'll drive you to work and pick you up if necessary. I don't know that much about cars, but I feel reasonably comfortable taking my car here.

I liked them, it was a good price, but, I had to keep calling them to see when my car would be done. Our communication was not good. The inspection in September was $150 and the oil leak change was $1000. They did do the work quickly, fit me in, and despite the communication problem, they did a good job. I will continue to use them in the future.

I called them on a busy Monday afternoon, (my air conditioner had stopped working), they took me right in. I asked if they had the time could they also inspect the car and change the oil and replace the coolant in the radiator (which it was due for). I really didn't think they would get it all done, as I didn't get there until around 3 p.m. but they did and they had me back on the road before 5 p.m. Everyone there, including the mechanics, receptionist and owner were extremely friendly and nice and treated me very well, which I appreciated so much since I had to stay and wait for the car (not having any other ride.) It has been almost a month since that visit and my car runs great and I am still impressed with the service I received at Superior. I had been looking for an honest and knowledgeable auto service and I really feel I have found one! Their prices seemed very fair, too! This was my first visit and I won't hesitate to return should my car ever need any other work done. The owner, James McCoy, really seems to take care of his customers and wants them to be happy with any repairs.

The parts are good. I had no issues with this company.

We have used Superior Motors from time to time over the past 4 years because they are the local AAA garage. Any time we've had car trouble at home - flat tire, dead battery, engine problems - we call AAA and Superior Motors is at our home in no time. Their staff are very professional, they do quality work, and they do the job quickly. Once, they had to tow the car back to the shop because they didn't have the necessary (industrial strength) tools with them. Later this month I will be taking my car to Superior for an LOF and its annual inspection (instead of to the dealer). I think I will be receiving better treatment not to mention a better price. Note: when I see Superior's trucks and vans on the road, they are always spotless! It appears they take good care of their own vehicles, as well.
