My dryer is very old. He came and knew what the problem was right away. He had to get a part. He came back later in the day to finish the job. Excellent service. I would highly recommend his service.

The oven/ stove was 12 years old and the cost of parts needed for repair was almost as much as new one. Decided against repair and bought a new one instead.

I called Fairhills Appliance when one of the gas burners on my Thermador range stopped working.  The spark unit was working but gas was not feeding to the burner.  I called Fairhills Appliance and got voice mail and left a message.  Karl, the owner, got back to me later that same day and was going to be in my area in about three days so we set up a time for him to stop by.  I asked if he serviced Thermador and he said he has repaired some but was honest about it not being a brand he worked with a lot. Karl said he would call about 15-20 minutes before the scheduled arrival time, which he did.  He arrived on time and started to work right away.  I had told him my model number in advance so he did some research prior to arriving.
Upon arrival he checked the most obvious problem which was the solenoid feeding the gas to the burner but that was working so by process of elimination he determined that the most likely problem was the simmer control.  He asked to use my computer so that he could go on line and order the part right away rather than wait until he was back in the office, which would add a day to the length of time it took to get the part.  He estimated it would be in on a Monday and would call me when he got it.
The following Monday he called in the morning saying the part had arrived and he was going to be in the area later that day and would I be around so that he could do the repair.  The answer was yes so he said he would be by in the early afternoon; he showed up at 1pm.  It took him about 1/2 hour to make the repair and put everything back together.  He was right in his guess that it was the simmer control and now everything works again.
Like every appliance repair person I have worked with there is an initial charge for the service call plus the hourly fee for doing the work.  His service charge was at the low end of what I have been charged in the past and his hourly rate was very reasonable.  He probably spent more than an hour in total working here but only charged me for one hour, which seemed very fair.
Overall I was very happy with the work performed by Karl.  He was courteous, on time, professional in his appearance and work, and I thought the overall charge was reasonable, particularly for a Thermador Range, which can be very expensive to repair.  I would definitely use Karl and Fairhills Appliance for any future appliance repair work I have.

I had feared it might be a coolant leak but he quickly ruled that out and pinpointed the problem as a small, previously unnoticed food spill of some kind and suggested that continued cleaning and deodorizing of fridge and freezer over time would clear out the off-odor.
Mr. Boeggeman showed up a few minutes early for our appointment and proved to be an agreeable and knowledgeable man.
I've already made a tentative appointment with him to handle a problem with another, completely different, large appliance in the next month or so.

Karl promptly returned my phone call and arranged a convenient time to make the service call. He was able to identify the two likely causes of the problem and the approximate cost of the repair if one of e two things were the problem including labor. Karl arrived promptly and was very friendly. He immediately identified the problem, looked up the part cost, and confirmed the estimate. The part arrived and Karl returned to fix the dryer within a week. The bill was dead-on with the estimate plus tax.

We contacted a supplier, droive to their shop, bought a unit and have arranged for Karl to install it in a few days. All-in-all a quick, reasonably priced, common-sense outcome. We are very pleased. As an aside the store from which we purchased our new dishwasher told me Karl has been working with their clients for 20 years and they commended him in all respects very highly.

He came on time. Opened the oven door and said I needed a gas regulator. He said it would cost $175.. If I had known the part cost arouNd $50 I would have said no. He installed the part charged the 175 plus tax which came to 183 and change. If I am incorrect in thinking that was too much money let me know.

Response from Fairhills Appliance Repair Service
"Sorry to here you were not 100 percent satisfied with our price. We are almost always lower than our competition. This job is no exception. According to the 2009 Appliance Servicer National Price Guide, the average price for fixing your stove, in 2009 mind you,was 235 dollars.I do not claim to be the cheapest guy out there, and i know for a fact that i`m not the most expensive.I wish you luck in your voyage in finding another company that lives up to your expectations."

Karl checked a few things and determined the problem with the washer. He ordered the part and within a week the problem was fixed.I did not have him fix the oven since that would have cost $300, which is not much less than we paid for the range. I do not use the oven much at all since I have a large toaster oven/broiler that is more efficient.
He was very professional and on time. If I need another appliance repaired, I will definitely use him again.

Excellent. Called them out to fix an LED temperature guage in a double oven. Karl showed up right away and had to order a replacement part. He also looked at an ice machine that no one else could fix. He ordered a part for that and returned two weeks later and fixed both. He was very personable, very professional (he knows his stuff) and not very expensive. A keeper.
