We couldn't be happier. This is the second job Topper & Son has done for us and he is just outstanding. When we originally got estimates, we were leaning toward staining the house so as not to lose the rustic wood look, but after consulting with Dwayne and him showing us how it would look painted, we opted for that option. It turned out great! But we didn't just get a great exterior paint job; we got an exceptional job well beyond our expectations. Dwayne brought the regional Sherwin Williams rep to the house before he started for consultation and advice. He started by power-washing the entire house and then, section-by-section, applied the first coat of high quality paint followed by caulking every opening and gap - and I do mean every opening and gap. He then applied the second coat of paint, and painted all the trim. Because of the many angles along our roofline, nothing was easy on this job, but Dwayne was up to the task. He kept us apprised of what he was doing and why. He even brought the Sherwin Williams regional rep back out midway through to evaluate the work - the rep was really impressed too. I have to say that the pace of his work is slow, but that is because he is so meticulous. He is mostly a one-man company with his son helping as needed. You will not get a quick job from Dwayne, but you will get a job done absolutely right.
Dwayne did a tremendous job; he was thorough and meticulous in everything. He filled all the holes in the walls, hammered back in the pop-out nail heads, and sanded everything (not just the places he repaired) lightly before painting. He applied two coats of a high quality paint in the colors we selected. He even helped us install a new light fixture in the wall, and when we discovered that the new fixture did not cover the existing hole, he patched the hole for us (we decided we didn't really need the light there anyway) at no additional cost. Because of the height of the walls including a stairway, this was no easy job, and he did it extremely well including clean up at the end of each work day. Dwayne is not a fast worker, but he is more thorough and meticulous than we have ever seen before, and we are extremely happy with the final results.
