Larry arrived on time with his assistant (son ??)  He explained everything in detail and provided me with several options in the installation of the switch, placement of fan, etc. The $225 job was reduced to $200 based on Angie List online coupon.

They cleaned up and vacuumed the area, and were professional in all aspects of the job.

I highly recommend this contractor, and will refer him to neighbors and friends.

He was good and I would recommend him.  His price wasn’t bad.  He was good to work with and I’ve had no problems.  He was just the kind of guy who had common sense.  He was very polite and had manners which is a rarity today.  He’s been in business for a while.  I think it was him and his father, and then he only took the business over.  He seems like a good Christian kind of guy I guess.  I would absolutely use him again in the future.

I originally called Larry on a Sunday afternoon thinking I would be leaving a message to schedule an at-home estimate to have the backup generator installed, but no, Larry, personally answered on a weekend and scheduled the estimate at my earliest convenience (early the next week).   The written estimate was provided within one week of the evaluation at a fixed fee (not a hour and materials basis),  therefore there would never be a surprise when I got the final invoice.  This is a huge selling point, to know exactly what you're paying before signing the contract!
Work was scheduled based on the generator availability from the vendor (~3 weeks from 'green light').  Installation of these generators is a multi-day, multi-contractor (electrical and plumber/gas) process.  Dont  think it's a couple hours of labor on one day!
Day 1 - Preparing the plot where the generator would be installed.  LWB&S prepared the plot with extreme care for my lawn and landscaping.  They even replaced sod they needed to pull in order to appropriately level and set the concrete.  (1/2 day then left to allow prepared plot to set before installing).
Day 2 (next day)- Installed generator outside and mounted panel by main electrical panels in house. (all day  ~6 hrs.)
**Note: my biggest headache for this whole process was not LWB&S, but rather the plumber/gas company.  Because of licensing and code requirements, LWB&S were not qualified to perform the gas hookups required to provide a fuel source for the generator.  The only delays in the project was due to the gas company schedule to make the appropriate hookups from my LP tank.**
Day 3 (~3 Weeks from D1 due to gas company) - Upon completion of the gas hookups, LWB&S were back out within days to compete the final hookup which included drilling a hole in the foundation to run the conduit from the main breaker switch out to the generator, transfer all circuits to be backed up to the gnerator panel, perform a final start up and give me a brief rundown of the equipment.
Day 4 (~1 week from D3 due to availability from the County Inspector) - Final inspection from county and certification.  Due to this work being performed around the Chrsitmas and New Year holidays, the county inspector was slightly delayed.  I never had to call the county for ANYTHING (permits, inspections, etc.) LWB&S takes care of all that!
All in all, I had an extremely positive experience with Larry and LWB&S in general.  For a job as expensive as this ($6,000+) I expected top notch service and received nothing short of exactly that.  I will be calling LWB&S for any/all electrical work in the future.
Thanks Larry!

Seems the number of extended power outages in our area has been on the upswing in recent years, so we decided to upgrade our backup power preparations. We'd been using a portable generator, but had been limited by what could be run by stringing power cords through the house. After the most recent multi-day outage this winter, we decided to spring for a setup that would enable safely energizing the well pump and other creature comforts. We researched a number of electricians, using Angie's List as one information source. This led us to Mr. Bishop. He explained a number of options to us, provided free estimates, demonstrated a thorough understanding of the work we ultimately requested, returned all calls in a timely manner, and answered numerous questions before, during, and after installation of the subpanel. Job completed as scheduled, good quality workmanship, final price exactly as quoted (which was a little less than competing bids.) He pulled the permit and called in the inspection; the work passed easily. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Mr. Bishop again when in need of an electrician.

The service was excellent. The cost was actually lower than quoted previously. They were very professional and adaptable to meet our scheduling requirements. We will definitely use their services again if we need any electrical work done.

Mr. Bishop responded the same day to my voicemail, and came out to my house right away. He was very professional and thorough, quickly diagnosing the problem and even being a little creative in his solutions. Since I didn't end up hearing back from any other electricians (and haven't had to call any others in a while) I can't rate him on price; he charges $70 for a minimum service charge if that's useful to know. I would definitely consider calling him for services again in the future.

I contacted Larry Bishop by email asking about our central vacuum that stopped working. He promptly contacted us and arranged to come give us an estimate. Larry came when he said he would, checked the unit and confirmed the motor was gone. I was afraid we would have to replace the whole unit since it is old, however, Larry said he would get us an estimate on just the motor replacement and also a whole new unit. We had the estimate very quickly and we decided to just replace the motor at this time. As soon as the motor was in, Larry came back (again on time). I was shocked when he was done and he told me the bill would be $80.00 less than his estimate. The vacuum is now working very well and we are very pleased with Larry's professional manner and honesty. He said the job was not as involved as he first thought it would be and therefore the reduced charge. We were very impressed. We definitely will use him again.
