The Cleaning Authority - Downingtown

When we initially signed up for the service we liked them. They used environmentally-friendly cleaning materials and we had a regular cleaning crew that knew our house and kept things as we liked them. Then, about 2 years into the service, they changed cleaning materials which seemed to cause things to be smeared and less clean. About this time we saw a high turnover of personnel so we never knew which people would be on our assigned crew. We did get a consistent crew for our last few months of cleaning, but the quality went down significantly.

My experience with them has been excellent! First of all, they put a team on the house, and it's fairly consistently the same or at least one member of the team that arrive each time which is terrific! You always have somebody that you know coming to the house after the first visit. In terms of the first visit by the managing folks, they were terrific at explaining what was going to happen. I've used them now for about two years. They're always accommodating, so I find them terrific! Their cleaning is excellent as well!

I have used several cleaning services in the past and was ready to give up and clean myself when a neighbor recommended the Cleaning Authority. I am extremely pleased with the quality of their work and the responsiveness of the company to my needs. They divide the house into 4 areas to be cleaned: #1 Kitchen/eating; #2 Stairs/halls/Bedrooms; #3 Bathrooms; #4 Living areas. They and quot;super cleanand quot; one of the areas (rotating through the cycle) every week and then and quot;regular cleanand quot; the other three areas. It is really great when you know there has been a super clean every 4th cleaning. I find the house stays much cleaner, maybe because we appreciate how good it looks! The teams leave a detailed agenda for what they did and what they will do the next visit. And a supervisor pops in to spot test/check on the teams every few visits if not more. I highly recommend (and have recommended to friends and family) this company.

The Co-owner came to do an estimate, and she was very pleasant to work
with. We wanted a monthly service since we are empty nesters and she
indicated this was something they offer to clients all the time. She gave me an
estimate which I agreed to, and left saying her husband would schedule
the two initial visits to do a and quot;deep cleanand quot; and get everything on cycle
for the regular visits. These initial cleans are about 150% of the
regular cleaning cost. This seemed like a good way to start, in my
opinion. He didn't contact me for over 2 weeks. Then, he sent an email
saying that someone would be there at 8AM the next morning (less than 12
hours notice) to start - which was not enough notice for me since we both work at home and had things scheduled. He seemed
over scheduled and busy and had a and quot;take it or leave itand quot; approach to
scheduling for me. He kept pushing a Monday date for these initial
cleans, and then when I asked if this meant my regular cleaning day would always
be Monday he said yes, and it wasn't flexible because he had scheduling
challenges with staff. Mondays are terrible for us, and since so many
holidays fall on Mondays I knew we would be away, or get bumped all the
time. With a monthly service this would be a problem for us. He didn't
ask me about a date, he told me what worked for him. There are so many
people offering this kind of service in my area, and I did not like his
asking me to take it or leave it. Not a great way to treat a customer
before we even do business. I was worried about what it might be like
if there were problems down the line - something broken or he has
someone not come in for work and is short staffed when I've planned for
company or something.

I have had regular bi-weekly cleaning but the person who I hired moved out of state and I have to hire someone new. Based on Angie's list I decided to give Cleaning Authority a chance. My house had been cleaned 2 weeks before by my last service. Deborah came to my house and gave me an estimate, plus a brochure explainining their services. She also recognized that my house is well maintained. She mentioned that her employees can't get on ladders, however I did not realize until they actually came to clean that that includes step-ladders as well, therefore they only clean as far as they can reach, meaning...top halves of mirrors and cabinets, ceiling fans, cob webs on tall ceiling, tiles above arm length in showers, light fixtures etc will never be addressed. They only carry a short extension lambs wool that can serve as a service duster where it reaches. I need a service that is that is more thorough and can address all areas of my house. I did not notice any additional "deep cleaning" of baths or kitchen and had to have them redo counter tops in kitchen as well as areas appeared to be missed or only lightly dusted, but not washed down. When the supervisor came to see how the crew did, I explained my dissatisfaction and was told that there insurance does not allow more than they do. This is just not the service to use if you have tall ceilings or areas to clean that require using a step-stool.

I have signed up to continue using them bi-weekly. They are on time and do a fantastic job. They are great with my pets too! They all communicate clearly what will be cleaned and they rotate through the house to do extra deep cleaning on a schedule. If you are looking for a licensed and insured and professional team - look no further!

They talked in detail about waht they would do. They also had brochures that would explain exactly what they would do. You really knew what you were getting from them. They really nailed it on describing what services they performed. They are a green cleaner and just my personal preference, I did not care the type of cleaner they used so I did not go with them. It wasn't anything against them, just my preference. I haven't researched green cleaners, so I did not choose to use it at this time. I needed it done right away and didn't have time to research their products. But they were very professional.
