Baleno Concrete

From our first phone call, to the last drop of concrete that was poured, I cannot say enough about how well Dom and his entire crew did with our project. Dom was a pleasure to work with. He detailed information about how the driveway and sidewalk would be completed and took time to answer every question we had. Dom told us in the spring, they would be out in August, and like clockwork we got a phone call to schedule out project at the beginning of August. The crew worked nonstop removing the old driveway and prepping the area for the pour. They cleaned the jobsite each day and made sure they did not cause any issues for the neighbors. They kept us informed each day of the progress. After completing the pour, they even came back the next day to not only power wash the driveway and sidewalk, but also make sure the street was clean as well. We cannot recommend Dom and Baleno Concrete enough. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish!

Excellent. The old steps were jack-hammered out, limestone filler added as there was a void under the front door, and the concrete poured, new steps replaced in one day. The team of 6-8 men were professional and did an excellent job. The cost was well worth the excellent, professional work done. Crew arrived about 7:30 am and were finished by about 3 pm.

Remove Old was fine. New went down find also.

Once the job was accepted, they scheduled the job and conducted the work right on the schedule that they gave.
It is my memory ( job was executed 4.5 years ago in the summer of 2011) that everything went well and they were very cooperative and professional.  The house has since become a rental property and it appears to be standing up well.
The only odd thing about the job was that the sections of the driveway (6 total segments I believe) were two tone.  We were told that it would blend together quickly.  The two tones lasted for years.  While they have blended together mostly, one can still see slight color difference (4.5 years later), but only when the driveway is empty and dry in the sun.  This was a minor detail and in no way detracted from the value of the property or its curb appeal.  It was actually pretty neat to see because the contrasts were so consistent and symmetrical.
FUNNY PART - The checkerboard pattern provided great amusement to the masons we had re-point our exterior brickwork.  They apparently knew the Balenos well and promised to give them grief for the "extra special surprise driveway design".  
I would gladly use Baleno Concrete again for any job because they did great work and they did it on time and the work has stood up through 4.5 years of heat, heavy rain, and extreme cold and snow.

Mr. Baleno and his crew arrived at the scheduled time and day.  He had clean shiny well cared for equipment, it all looked to be in good shape and high quality.  I like to refer to this group as the Baleno Brigade because it was like a bunch of Marines landed and descended with a mission to restore my eyesore into a work of art.  Each crew member worked hard each and everyday.  They didn't sit around waiting to be told what to do.  Dominic was always on the job site and worked along with his crew.  He and his men are very methodical.  The transformation happened so fast.  I can't say enough about was a great job they did.  I waited a long time to do this work.  I had received a few bids for this job and they were all about the same price, the main reason I hired Dominic was he was so patient with me.  I am in my 80's and he showed respect to me and my caretakers.  He met with me several times and made sure I understood the process.  He talked to me with kindness., He  kept me informed of the progress as he went along and didn't mind me watching while his crew worked. Thank you Dominic, Wally, Sean, Chuck, and Tony.  I am one very satisfied customer.

Mr. Baleno and his crew arrived at the scheduled time, they began immediately upon arrival.  I have never seen a crew that is so in tune with each other.  They got the job done quickly and it seemed effortless for them.  Dominic works with his crew directing them in with kindness, he is a true professional and that reflects back through his crew.  I have hired contractors in the past who have been my worst nightmare, that is why I joined Angie's List., Please to those who read this , do not hesitate to hire this company, you will not be disappointed.  I waited a year to write this review because I wanted to see if the concrete would crack or the curb would fall apart, guess what,,,,IT'S GREAT QUALITY WORK , IT'S PERFECT!!!!  
Six month after my sidewalk was poured, the gas company found a leak at the curb box and cracked two sections of my brand new sidewalk.  I was not very happy about that.  I requested that the gas company use Baleno Concrete to pour those two sections.  Once again, Dominic to the rescue , I had to wait until  he finished a job , but it was worth the small wait, because it matched perfect.
I have referred Baleno Concrete with confidence .   Thank you Dominic, Sean, Wally, Tony, and Chuck, you are a great team.  I am proud to say that I used Baleno  concrete.

I contacted Baleno Concrete in the spring and requested an estimate for replacing my existing walk way.  An appointment was made within a few days and Dom arrived promptly. We discussed what I wanted and he informed me it would be into July before he would have time to perform the work.  This worked fine with my schedule as I was leaving town for a month and would not be back until the middle of July. I received a written estimate and accepted it. When I returned from my trip I contacted Dom who returned my call within a day. He gave me a date and approximate start time and he and his crew arrived within that time frame.  He reviewed with me what I wanted done and I asked if he could add several feet to the length of the walk at which time he gave me a verbal cost for that extra concrete. I accepted the new figure. 
They completed the work that day and came back the following morning to remove the frame boards and clean up. Dom called me a few days later to be sure I was happy with the work and then sent me the bill. 
I was very impressed with how quickly and in sync his crew worked and am very happy with the results.

Dom's professionalism, communication and approach to the job were outstanding. His crew worked hard and completed the work in less time than had been planned. We live on a busy street and they managed traffic very nicely during the construction. The sidewalk they poured is beautiful, and they left the property in excellent shape.

 A true pleasure to do business with. I know who I will call when I need sevices in the future...

This was the first time that I used them. We felt that the person who came out and gave the estimate was very knowledgeable, and gave us some good suggestions on widening the steps and doing a few things that would be pleasing. We had an issue, because they had to repair some bricks behind the steps that had collapsed, and they didn't repair the mortar. We notified them, and they came out and fixed it. Their price was a little bit high.

They also poured a new set of steps from the patio to the kitchen. When I received the estimate, I contacted one of Baleno's previous customers. I know this other person to be particularly fussy and at times difficult with extremely high standards. I ran my scope of work and price past him. With out hesitation he told me that I could probably shop around and do a little better on price, but if I want a good job without any call back problems I should accept it. That is what I did. They were prompt, professional, fast and clean. All of the above done in four days, only coming back the following week to apply sealant and some extra landscaping I requested after seeing them perform. Dom and his crew are tops. They applied both standard and aggregate finishes with curbing giving my urban parking and relaxing area a unique and custom look. I'm completely satisfied.

Dominic and his crew were fantastic.  They moved us up in the schedule and then worked efficiently and thoroughly to produce a great looking walk and steps to our front door.  They were professional and courteous.  We would definitely use them again.

Mr. Baleno arrived on time with his crew and immediately began the project.  Not knowing much about the concrete business, I found myself watching the procedure.  Mr. Baleno and crew were professional and focused all the way; very detail oriented.  Each went beyond what was required to insure that the project was completed as contracted. 
Returned the next day to complete their work and our new sidewalk and entrance way look great.  They even stopped by a few days later to add soil to where they had to dig out for the braces used to mold the cement.
I can't speak highly enough for the work performed by all of the men at Baleno Cement. I would highly recommend them for any project.
Without being reminded, they returned to put a seal on our  new concrete....Great Job!

Baleno Concrete was great to work with.  They were punctual and gave me times of when they would be at my home. They explained everything that they would be doing and everything looks beautiful.  They answered all my questions and took the time to explained even if I did not understand the first time.  Every worker was nice and very curteous.  I am very pleased with the work that was provided, the price and the overall project.
The only thing that I thought would be included in the project, but was told that they did not provide the service, was the landscaping to fill in the areas that they had to dig out to put the forms for the work.  I now have to landscape on my own or hire additional help.  That was my only dissappointment.

Dominic Baleno and Baleno concrete did great work for me and I highly recommend them.  Dominic responded to my request for a quote very quickly.  We met and he explained the nature of the work; what they would do, how they would do it, how long it would take and when it could be completed.  He sent the estimate quickly.  The price was very reasonable and he worked me into his schedule.  The work was done well and was completed in less than one day.
Dominic was very professional and communicative.  He and his crew were prompt, punctual and very attentive to working quickly, carefully and skillfully.  My project was small, but he treated me with the courtesy and respect that I would have expected if I had a larger project to offer.

This project went very well from start to finish. Mr Baleno arrived early with his crew and their work showed a great deal professionalism. This project took 3 days to complete. His crew was very polite and respectful of my property cleaning up at the end of every day. What impressed me about Mr Baleno is that he did not request any up front deposit money and he did exactly what he said he would do. I learned from from past experiences that concrete work is expensive and you want to do it right the first time. His price was not the cheapest but in the end you get what you pay for.

Baleno Conrete is superb! Domenic Baleno was very prompt in returning my request for a bid. He arrived punctually on the day appointed, performed a thorough examination of the site, both outside and inside (in the cellar beneath where the pad is located). He also noted that the previously poutred pad was not centered on the front door and that the step does not meet the decorative brick walkway in an aesthetically pleasing way.
        He made clear then that summer was their busiest time, and that though he'd be glad to commit to doing the work then and there, his firm would not be available until later in the season. He said he'd work up a written quote and mail it to me within the week, and he did.
        He phoned as soon as his crew was ready, and we arranged for convenient dates. His 3-man crew arrived on time, detailed for me what they would be doing that day, and how many more days the job would require. They worked swiftly and efficiently, cleaned away all the debris, and confirmed when they would return the next day. They finished the project the next day, including relaying some bricks in the decorative path. They left some wooden supports in place for a few days thereafter to ensure the pad would set perfectly and returned a few days later to reclaim them. Because they noticed some leakage in the cellar, they laid down some caulk to weatherproof the pad. In addition, they came a week later to spray a sealant on the pad.
        The finished job is beautiful---a crisp, clean pad with attractive textural treament and a decorative border. In fact it looks so nice, we're thinking of leaving off the railing. When ever we need conrete work in the future, we'll be calling Baleno.

A large length of sidewalk in front of and beside our corner lot were damaged by trees.  Baleno's removed the old sidewalk, called the city forestry people to come cut the roots, then returned to put in new, smooth sidewalks.  They also took care of getting the permit.  They seemed quite familiar with city regulations on sidewalks, for example the distance required from a tree trunk, something I hadn't heard from other companies (general contractors).  Good work.

I have been a homeowner for approximately 30 years and have dealt with a range of plumbers, electricians, handymen, and contractors. Mr. Baleno was far and away the most professional, courteous, and responsive person I have ever had the luck to hire. He did a fantastic job. He returned my phone calls promptly, was on time, supervised on site 100% of the time, and did a perfect clean up. Baleno Concrete is top notch. He has my absolute recommendations. In addition, I have received numerous compliments on his work. These compliments have come from friends, strangers, and other professionals I have had to hire for other reasons.

Baleno was great, they arrived promptly in the morning right when they said they would. Dominic returned my calls when I had questions, and was there on time each and every time I needed to meet. They worked fast and efficiently, and did a great job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, I'm very happy with how things turned out.
