RIP OFF!!! I called for an estimate. No date was scheduled for any work, never heard back from them. Friends cleaned up the lawn. Got home from vacation to a $245 bill claiming I owed for "Fall Cleanup" when we had only discussed leaf removal. They claim they showed up while we were away "removed leaves" that had already been raked, and also mowed and trimmed which I never asked for, and the property LOOKS THE SAME as when we left!

Great service. A representative named Rob came up with a great game-plan for us, and gave us a price before they even started. I liked the up front pricing. There is also another representative Mark that we thought was very professional and nice just like Rob. The workers did a great job and even worked in the rain.
Great local company. We'll use them again.

After waiting almost 2 months for Kunco to show up, they arrived 10/11/11 with all their equipment. They stripped my lawn taking the topsoil along with the sod. They resloped the landscape in front of my house to deter the water away from the house. That's about the only thing done correctly. The hydroseeded the front and back yard without putting new topsoil down. When I questioned them about this, Ron told me that he's been in the business 20 years and knows more than I do about lawns. Well, in came heavy rains. My backyard looked like a swimming pool. When I called he said he had quite a few lawns to reseed because of the rain but it would have to wait until spring and that I didn't have to pay the balance owed until my lawn was the beautiful lawn he promised. That was a long, muddy winter. Spring 2012 finally arrived and they came and reseeded parts of my lawn that they thought needed it. Mind you, I had barely any grass growing. I asked again about the top soil and was treated like I knew nothing. They fertilized and reseeded parts of the lawn again. After a couple weeks I called and they sent Mark to check out my lawn. After we walked my property he agreed that the lawn needed some topsoil and more seed. He also said that he wouldn't admit to doing my yard because of the awful way it looked. I thought that I would finally have some grass!
A few more weeks went by, and a few more calls from me. I finally got a call from Mark saying that "the big boss" wouldn't allow him to do any work until I paid the balance I owed. (Mind you, Ron Kunco told me more than once that I didn't have to pay the balance until I was satisfied with my lawn.) I called to talk this over and was treated very rudely. The day I mailed the check, in the fall of 2012, hoping then that my lawn would be repaired, I was served with papers for non-payment. Another phone call to the company and I was treated very rudely once again by the woman on the phone. She was very threatening and told me there was no way I'd ever beat them in court.
So...payment was made and when I called to see when the work would be done I Never received a call back.
It's been a couple years and my lawn is an embarrassment. It looks worse than it did before they started. So I'm out $3000.00 and have to start all over again.

It was timely. When they brought their shrubs, they even moved shrubs that I didn't like the placement of. They had the initiative to do what needed to be done. I would recommend them.

We checked out all of the service vendors offering paver patio installations at the Erie Home Show. Kunco's had one of the nicest displays and all of the staff in the booth transmitted a favorable image, wearing nice company logo shirts, and discussing their services in a professional manner. All of the other contractors were willing to state a base price per square foot, but Kunco's avoided answering that question. In retrospect, perhaps that should have been a red flag.
The price quote was remarkably high. Since we wanted a top quality job, we ultimately went with Kunco's, but had to scale back the size and features of the project significantly to meet budget considerations.
We signed and paid the deposit in August, then had to wait until the end of the fall for them to install it. In fact, they said they couldn't place the sealant on the pavers until the next springtime arrived, which turned out to be June 6th. They charged us an additional $1,500 for the sealer job, not telling us that would be an extra fee until the installation of the pavers was completed.
The workmanship itself was excellent, however, which makes the binary question above "would you use this provider in the future?" a little hard to answer. We might consider it, but only if they put every single aspect of the job discussion in writing, which we had taken on a handshake.
Here are some of the other issues which arose:
-Standing water. A curved decorative wall was placed, but it holds standing water on the patio surface for a day after a rain. They drilled a few holes with a masonry drill to mitigate this, but not fully effective.
-Forgot conduit. They were supposed to lay some pieces of PVC conduit beneath the walkways to enable landscape lighting installation. Not done.
-Skid steer (tractor) drove on edge of existing concrete sidewalk, depressing one side a half inch. We let that go, but it's annoying.
-Hauled dirt away. The excavated dirt was supposed to fill low spots in the back yard. They forgot, and hauled it away.
-Switched brick pavers. Said they changed suppliers. In the process, lower quality "accent" or trim pavers were used, not the ones they showed us which contained granite chips.
-Lawn re-installation washed out. Placed a thin layer of topsoil and hydro-seeded, again so late in the fall it didn't grow, and remains very spotty. Declined to revise it as requested.
-Grit/filler power-washed away during prep for sealant. Paver patios do not have mortar, but a special filler which is supposed to last. They tell you not to powerwash it away, but in many spots their prep for the sealant did just that; left it as-is.
So, overall, Kunco's job with our paver patio was done with excellent cutting and precise placement of the pavers and walls, but with numerous disappointing aspects otherwise.

They did a good job but they were very pricey. They were responsive to my needs.
