The company was very professional and did a good job for us. They are not cheap, but did offer a discount for a combo job for both gutters and insulation. Their crew was meticulous and did a very good job with clean-up after the work was completed.

Awesome work

I initially contacted the company last year in September/October about icicles forming on part of the roofline of our home. Being over 60 years old, I also wanted to get a quote on the LeafGuard product, particularly for the second story gutters as I'm not too thrilled about cleaning them out up at that height. The salesman who came out identified the icicle issue as being caused by inadequate insulation in the crawlspace of that part of the home. He also looked at the other part of attic where we had had foam insulation blown in a number of years ago. He said that it had been very poorly done and should be selectively re-applied to give a better overall insulation to the home. He took extensive measurements on both the insulation job and the gutters. He said he'd be back in touch with a quote "very soon". "Very soon" stretched into three weeks with no word, so I called and asked him what was with the delay. He said he would be hand delivering the estimate by week's end. Well...that didn't happen either. After another two weeks I sent him an email and left word by phone that I wanted the quote. I never heard from the guy. I was going to blow the company off and write a bad review on Angie's List, but thought that it may just be the salesman, not the company. So I drove the 25 miles to their business and asked to speak to the owner. He was very apologetic for the situation and said he would have a different salesman call me within the day. And before I got back to my home, Jim Moran was calling to see when he could come out to look at the job. Jim was out the following day as I recall, and had to totally remeasure the jobs so that he could quote it. The quote was in my hands by the end of the day! Now this was more like it. The price for the services was a bit of a shocker, but I was now getting good service. The crews who did both of the jobs were very professional. They arrived as scheduled. They were pleasant, worked quickly, with great care not to cause damage to the property or leaving behind any mess. The day after the gutters were installed we got a real cloudburst that delivered about 2" of rain in a very short period of time. The gutters were working extremely well except in one area. I took a brief video of the gutter overflowing and sent it to my saleman. The next day the installers were back out and re-engineered that area to solve the issue (or at least I think it is...I'll have to wait for another downpour to find out). I could not be more pleased with both of the jobs that Bauer Specialty completed for us.

Installation date was moved up and we were very pleased with the timing and completion of the project.

They put an insulation and it worked fine. When we had a problem they came and they did it and we have insulation. They did the job well. They cut some of the siding but then they replaced it with the extra siding and we knew that would would. But they did the extra more than they should have, we found out that there was actually already insulation in one part. So when we got the bill we got the bill for the full amount and they should have deducted that one part then we called them and explained and that wasn't a problem.

The crew was punctual and professional and did a good job of protecting our interior from damage from the hoses and traffic in and out. The big problem I had was the fact that insufficient foam was applied on the first go-round. The specs called for an average of 7and quot; of foam on the roof and after they left I measured it as 4-6and quot; in most places and 7and quot; or more only where a roof joist was covered. The average was far less than the specified 7and quot;. The walls were supposed to average 5and quot; and I measured 3-4and quot;. When I brought the discrepancy to their attention they were very responsive and, although it took a while to get them back out to complete the job, the end result was very satisfactory. I think the foam is a great solution to a tough attic problem and I would definitely use these folks again, although with close monitoring of the job.
12/13 Update: Now that we have had a few snowfalls this winter I can share that I am really impressed with the spray-on insulation. We only needed new insulation in one troublesome portion of our attic. The remainder has very adequate fiberglass insulation and plenty of ventilation. After a few snow and thaw cycles, it is obvious that the spray insulation does a far better job. The snow on the sprayed portion of the roof is thicker right after the snowfall and stays far longer than on the rest of the roof, indicating far less heat transfer from inside the house. Also, the attic is toasty warm. Although a bit pricy, this is a really good product.

Project was done in a timely and efficient manner. Crew was courteous and professional. Materials and quality of work were very good. This appears to be a very high quality system and the installers left me with no complaints or concerns.

I liked the price, speed, and professionalism. They were very good. They explained everything they were doing and they did a great job. I like the warranty thing as well which is for 10 years. I would absolutely use them again.

TERRIFIC. I chose Bauer from great local word-of-mouth, and the top ratings on Angie's list. They were prompt, tidy, did exactly what we agreed, cleaned up, and left no mess behind. Heat bills have dropped, ice dams are so far not to be seen, and I'm neither raking snow off the roof, nor climbing a ladder to yank ice from the gutters. Great job!

The installation started great and ended better! Professional and courteous workers including the owner Matt. They showed up timely and on continuous days. We did not have any mess or noise complaints from the neighbors.

All siding that was removed was carefully replaced.

One small problem was some adhesive that was spilled on a relatively new cement driveway. When notified, Bauers had someone scrub the area with a special detergent.

* I asked to be used as a reference, and was contacted by many potential customers, most of which had Bauer's do it, and all with the same results.

We investigated several companies and ended up using Bauer for our insulation work. Everything went as planned. The estimate was very fair, and followed a thorough evaluation. The work crew was punctual, professional, pleasant and cleaned up afterwards. No complaints - would use them again!

This went very well. The first thing was the inspection of the house to do the estimate. The inspection was very in-depth. They checked the walls, the eves of on the second floor since it is a cape cod house. We took some time to make sure this was what we really wanted to do. It is kind of a complicated process. The price was right so we decided that the insulation would help with the house being more efficient.
The work started - and had to be stopped the first day (they can not pump in the insulation when it is raining due to using electricity to pump in the material electrocution can be an issue). But they were back the next morning. The crew explained everything they needed to do. I do have to warn everyone that this process is very noisy. I left the house because you can not really do anything due to the noise. One of the crew will be inside your house listening and feeling the walls so that the crew memeber outside the house can be told when to stop pumping the Air krete. I asked to feel how it felt and the crew member let me experience what it was like - pretty neat.
The crew was polite and informative. The were very knowledgeable on the process and the product.
i was very pleased with the work. I also have to say that it has already made a difference in the house efficiency. It also has cut down on the noise that we hear from the outside ( a great extra benefit).
I recommend this product and company. It has been a better experience than I expected.

It went extremely well!

We called Bauer Specialty and requested an estimate for high density expanding foam insulation. Dominic Paschel was the representative we met with. He was very detailed in his verbal explanation of the products' features and benefits, as well as some very technical information that I found very useful in making the decision to investment the money in our home. The written estimate was very detailed as well. This was important to me as sometimes it's tough to digest a lot of necessary information at one time, so it was very helpful to have this very detailed explanation of the proposed work on hand. We decided to proceed with the installation, and signed a contract. Due to some scheduling issues on our part, we had to reschedule several times. The office scheduler (Kim) was very accommodating. The installers, (Bill and Rob) arrived promptly at 8:30 A.M to begin. The job went very well. All areas of our home where they would be working were well protected. This was exceedingly important as we recently repainted and installed new carpeting throughout. The work was completed by early afternoon in a very efficient manner with Bill and Rob keeping us in the loop regarding the progress of the job. We would highly recommend Bauer Specialties to anyone considering insulation work for their home.

They were excellent. They wee courteous and cleaned up. They did a nice fast job. The house is a lot quieter and warmer. The price was good. I would use them again.
