Appliance Repair
Called Kennedy Appliance Service and he came over 2 days later. Removed freezer back panel and saw the coil all choked with
frost. He said I didn't have a defrost problem but rather the coils weren't cold enough to not stop frosting. My compressor wasn't
cooling enough to freeze. The system of R12 refrigerant was low due to a leak which he couldn't find. The leak was internal to
the walls normally and cannot be repaired. I thanked him and asked his advice on the new purchase I was going to have to make.He advised me into purchasing either a Whirlpool or Maytag which are at the top the same company. BOTH MADE IN USA
Lastly he said no charge. I offered him to pay for his time but he would have nothing to do with it. Great Guy definately do business with him again.
Alex Appliance Repair is another story. He boasted about how great this GE machine was and I should keep fixing it.(Notice I did not recommend GE) KAS showed me that this fridge didn't even leave the factory without having it's compressor changed before I got it. AAR cannot troubleshoot did not have any testing type tools with him meter guages etc. Expected me to go along with a 24F freezer for a week and a half. I Put in $175 into a dead horse. However learned my lesson V&V is a great place for knowledge and advise. Hopefully someone out there will have a better idea of who to call and save themselves serious money.
