MARATHON MORTGAGE

Description of Work: I met with Rebecca in late January after multiple bad experiences with other brokers and banks. She answered my call straight away and had me in her office hours later. She took all of my information, guided me through the different mortgages. She kept in touch with me by phone and email with quick responses to my questions. Given my credit score, she got me the best mortgage interest I had been quoted. Also, her closing costs were the lowest I had been quoted.

Description of Work: Marathon Mortgage obtained a mortgage for me when I purchased my second home. They found a competitive rate with a bank that they said handled mortgages smoothly. At first this was a fairly standard operation. That fell apart when, on the day I was to settle on my old house, with movers carrying the last of my belongings from the house, the buyers' agent came walking up my driveway to say their mortgage had fallen apart and they could not settle that day. My settlement on my new house was 9 a.m. the next day, and I was counting on funds from the sale of my old house for my down payment. At 2:30, frantic, I called Marathon. By the close of business that day, they had a brand-new mortgage arrangement for me, with a different bank for a 95 percent loan to carry me over until the buyers could settle on my old house. I was able to go to settlement the next morning and move into my new house. And once I had the funds from the sale, Marathon refinanced my mortgage for me at no cost.
