Kreitzer's Automotive Service was reasonable. They were really prompt about getting me in. They had a loaner car so I didn't have to sit around for half a day. I think they have good attention to details. I didn't think they're that new but they had what they needed. Their price was reasonable.

I have to say I've never dealt with a auto repair place like Kreitzer. I know this review is going to sound like I'm a friend or a relative of theirs but I assure you I'm not. There was no way to know prior to starting the repair if I would need a gasket or a exhaust manifold. I have an older car and the availability of a manifold was not easy to find. Kreitzer's used their experience to offer a best guess. Based on how long I had seen the problem they guessed the problem was a gasket. However to be sure they had all the bases covered they located a used manifold and had it waiting at the shop in case it was needed so there would not be added time my car was out of commission. They offered a free loaner car, They offered after hours drop off and pick up. In the end I did not need the manifold. They could have easily said I did and added the cost of the repair. But they didnt. Since the labor was already invested they replaced a second gasket which cost $20 while they had things torn apart. They had an issue with a bolt contacted us with their suggestion. They used the same judgement and concern I would have had if I had been standing over them while they were working on the car. The cost for the work done was fair and reasonable. I was amazed at the customer service and the true concern they showed during the whole process. I thought I was dreaming. DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. You will love the experience!!!

(This is a follow up to my review of 3/29) I provided more background in my previous review for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The follow up service was for my 2005 Acura TL with 62,000 miles. I needed the timing belt replaced in accordance with mfg. recommendations. The local Acura service estimate was well over $1000, about $200 more than the Kreitzer estimate. Even if they had been the same, I would have used Kreitzer's since I am so impressed with their dedication to customer service and satisfaction and professionalism. Katy had my loaner ready when I dropped off my car. When I came back to pick it up, Katy insisted on showing me the parts and explained how to look for wear on the timing belt. She showed me the old water pump, tensioner, and serpentine belt as well. She said they appeared to be 'OK', but why take a chance on future failure while the engine is open. The work was done right (to their satisfaction) and they did the 2014 emission and inspection checks at the same time. I'm good to go through 07/14. I took the car to MD for a fast turnaround trip last week and it worked flawlessly. Of course Katy gave me a detailed report on tires, brakes, wipers, etc. as she did on the Jeep. She gave me the part number on the drivers seatbelt switch (sometimes sticks and the airbag light stays on when belt is engaged) and asked me to call Acura and see if they would replace it for free as a safety item. I will if the light stays on again; Katy lubricated the switch and it's working fine now. Folks, you can't beat Kreitzer's for all your car repairs and service. I have full faith and confidence in them, and for guys who love their cars, you know its so important to have a garage you can trust to do it right the first time at a fair price. No one wants to get ripped off. I'm so glad to have found them after just moving to central PA from MD, and I have Angie's List to thank for that. Great place; you will not be disappointed.

I used Angies list to find a "mom and pop" garage since we are new to the area and prefer to support local businesses wherever possible. Found Kreitzer on Angies list and called to schedule an appointment for our truck. They took me in right away and gave me a loaner to use while they ran a diagnostic. The results were 3 bad ignition coils, one of which we had just had replaced at a local tire dealership. Their recommendation was to replace all 8 since when 1 goes bad they all begin to go bad. So, to be honest, I was a bit skeptical about replacing all 8.... I wasn't so sure what we wanted to do since the 1 coil we had just had replaced was under warranty so I paid for the diagnostic (minus an Angies list discount) and I took the truck. Wellllll....I called the Ford dealership to do some price comparison and there was only a few bucks difference. They definitely told me that all 8 should be replaced. Then I called the place that originally replaced the one ignition coil and it took them 5 days to get back to me that they couldn't match the price (especially not using OEM parts which they didn't use the first time) plus the manager told me they should have recommended replacing all 8. I negotiated a credit with them and called Katy back at Kreitzer's and asked to schedule an appointment to have all 8 replaced. Got me in the next day, they gave me a loaner, replaced all 8 coils, price was true to estimate (including the Angies list discount they extended from the first time ) and it runs great. The reason I gave a "B" for price is I thought perhaps a non-dealership would be less expensive than a dealership - so I was wrong there - BUT everyone deserves good pay for good work and Kreitzer's certainly did good work! No complaints from me.....

As in the past, great job and honest folks. I was somewhat concerned about my automatic transmission being over-filled with ATF fluid from the prior owner. I called Katy and she got me right in and offered me a free loaner vehicle. Since I wasn't in any big hurry and the job would only take about an hour or so, I decided to wait on it. Thanks so much Katy and Josh. I appreciate your treating folks as you would like to be treated PS. Jim (the owner) was off for a few days and Katy (his daughter) ran the shop like a seasoned pro! I guess her dad taught her well! Thanks again folks. It is a rarity to see honest auto repair shops anymore. Glad we found you.

I recently purchased a 20 year old Ford pickup truck in pretty good condition however the ignition switch was just about shot. I needed to get it replaced soon as I didn't want to get stuck somewhere away from home and not be able to start the truck. I called Kreitzer's Automotive Service and shared my problem. They said I could bring the truck right in and they would get it fixed in short order. I drove to the shop and dropped off my truck. I ran a few errands, had lunch, and when I returned a couple of hours later, my truck was ready to go. Great work at a fair price. This is the shop I use for all my automotive service needs. They are hard working and honest which is a rarity these days.

My granddaughter's husband took in his old car for diagnosis of a serious running problem and to get an estimate on bringing it up to standard to pass inspection. They were so surprised to be offered a loaner right away to use till the estimate was in. Because the repairs would cost more than the car was worth, they opted to sell-or-trade the car for parts. Kreitzer's took the car in trade for the diagnosis bill. Both of them highly recommend Kreitzer's for non-warranty car work.

I contacted Kreitzer's on a Monday, mid-morning and described the noise in the rear of my vehicle. They could look at it right away and I dropped it off over my lunch hour and took the free loaner car with me back to work. Within hours, they called me with the details of what they found which included cracking front brake pads. They even emailed me a picture of the cracked brake pad! They explained what work they were going to do that would address the problem I described. At that point I mentioned the problem with my passenger door. They had parts available at the time, and also arriving the next day and anticipated replacing the door handle. They were actually able to repair the door handle with a clip so that saved both time and money, and they were happy to do a repair rather than continue with the full replacement knowing they could have charged me more for a more in-depth service. I was able to pay over the phone with a credit card, and they communicated with me by both phone and email, and are extremely responsive and friendly.

We just moved here from MD and I needed a good shop to service my 2004 Jeep and 2005 Acura TL. We joined Angie's List about 2 months ago and I searched for auto service shops in the general area. I was so impressed with the reviews for Kreitzer's that I decided to have them give me an estimate for some expensive repairs. I used a very reliable master mechanic in Gaithersburg, MD for ten years and had complete faith in him when he diagnosed a leaking transmission seal. He suggested that at the same time, I should do the front wheel transaxle seal and the pan gasket seals and refill all units for a total of $915.00. It would be a two day job and I've have to stay over. I called the office and talked with "Katy", owner Jim Kreitzer's daughter who is also a certified mechanic. We arranged for me to stop over on 3/26 after lunch so I could wait for the results and decide what I wanted to do. In about 5 minutes, "Josh" showed me what he'd found; it was the valve cover gasket on the 4.0 L straight six, and was dripping down both sides of the block and just happened to drip off the front edge of the transmission housing. Josh recognized immediately that the 'drip' was engine oil and not transmission fluid. He also found a new leak around a transmission 'neutral sensor' when he removed the small rubber boot, and suggested that be replaced as well. He stated the transmission gasket seals were all fine and he could find no issues at all. The total estimate was for $299 vs. the $915 estimate in MD. And Katy had a free loaner to use while my car would be repaired over monday and tuesday. Just top off the tank with gas!! Katy called me Tuesday afternoon when it was finished. Jim was glad to show me the worn parts and point out the failures which caused the issues. I was so impressed with the overall experience, that I purchased their "Car Care Club" coupon book on the spot. Good for one year, the cost is $99 and can cover over $400 worth of common service. The four oil change coupons more than pay for the cost of the book, plus covers free wiper blade replacement, etc. Believe me, I am very particular about who works on my cars. I'm retired, age 66, and I've always had to drive my cars for 8-10 years, so I need a shop that I have complete confidence in to do top quality work at a fair price, using the best parts available. I believe that Kreitzer Auto is just such a place, and I plan to use them for all repairs and service from now on. In fact, my 05 Acura may be due for the timing belt replacement (7 yrs or 70,000 mile) and Katy volunteered to contact Rahal Acura and determine what they recommend. Your receipt includes the current remaining life of all brake pads/shoes, and remaining tread life on all tires; few shops provide that courtesy. Also, I could tell they had adjusted my brakes at no charge. Add a free loaner, its a total win/win. Be aware, they are located out in the boonies off a narrow, heavily patched one lane road. The outside is not 'ornate', but don't judge this book by it's cover as I almost did when I found it. The Angie's reviews got me in, and the work they did won my return. They are excellent, skilled, fair, personable Christian technicaians, and I am so glad I found them for all my automotive needs. If you are not under a new car dealer warranty, there is no other place to use in my humble estimation.

Kreitzer's had my car done the same day, gave me a loaner car to get my business done and all I had to do was replace the gas I used. I've had my car there before and always found the work to be fast, efficient and done right. They are literally the best repair shop I've ever had (and we've had several before this).

My wife had a blown tire coming home from work and i was checking aroundwith the usual chain stores nearby to get it repaired and it had me thinking that i wish i had the personal touch of a private garage A few years ago i had that advantage until the owner passed away. After talking about and even trying Angie's List i thought I'd get my suv overto Jim's garage even if it was a little further for us to go to. Well needless to say i am so happy to have found this garage. The professionalism, kindness, explaining of your situation so you fully understand your repairs, and their out of the way service whether with aloaner car or being available at any time within a two hour time frame,makes the big chain garages look like amateurs. Jim, his mechanics, andhis daughter Katy at the phone will make you feel like family. QUALITY!!!!! HOSPITALITY!!!! Although this was a costly repair, the car is in very good condition and, I could never get another one like it for this price. So I decided to spend this money on my 2003 Chevy Impala. I was having trouble with the engine overheating. They diagnosed the problem at Kreitzer's and gave me an estimate for the repairs. I've been a customer at Kreitzer's for over 20 years and totally trust their honesty. They had to replace the 'head gasket', which is a major undertaking and the job was completed in a timely manner. Within a week I had my car back. The head gasket was removed and replaced, the state inspection was completed. However during the state inspection they found that I needed new rotors, tie-rod ends and brake pads. All of the work was done within the week and I'm completely satisfied with a job well done. The total cost of $2600 included the state inspection and repairs. I've been driving the car for over 2 weeks and it's running just fine. For anyone who is tired of taking their car to one of the 'chain store auto shops' (who seem to have different mechanics every few weeks) I would highly recommend giving Kreitzer's a call the next time that you need service, or state inspection.

The first one they gave me (a used model) didn't work fully, so they replaced it without any additional cost.

I left my Toyota Tacoma pickup with them overnight, asking for diagnosis of a number of symptoms. They arranged for me to have a loaner car, a veteran Ford Taurus. The car was not exactly the most pleasant, it smelled of cigarette smoke and had some minor mechanical issues, but given that loaners are VERY unusual for a regular mechanic (that is, not a dealership), I am not complaining as I was not expecting a brand new vehicle anyway. The service certainly made it more convenient for me to drop off my vehicle, as usually I have to take a day off and wait, for precisely that reason. And when I mentioned the issues to them, they appreciated the feedback as they don't drive the loaners regularly and they would address them. After they contacted me with their estimate, I was able to authorize some work but not the items I could take care of on my own. Their final bill was under the estimate price and they were able to resolve all the issues, and I can't ask for any more than that!

This a a family owned and operated business where everyone( including the dogs and kitties) were very friendly and most helpful. These people know what they are doing, and they do it promptly (despite extensive work I had my truck back with 24 hours); and they patiently and clearly explain exactly what they are doing. I will be going back for all of my truck maintenance and repairs.

From start to finish it is a very pleasant experience. Whenever one of my vehicles needs any type of service I have no qualms about taking it to Jim's (a.k.a. Kreitzer's). If the vehicles won't run they'll come and pick it up. I've been dealing with Jim for over 20 years can't think of having my vehicles anywhere else. From Grammy Kreitzer in the office, Katy at the front desk and mechanics Larry and Josh they are all tops! So if anyone is looking for a place to get a vehicle cared for I highly recommend giving Kreitzer's a call. I don't think that they'll be disappointed.

Jim was great got us in on short notice to fix the leaking hose, so my son could get back to school.

Overall, the service was great. Earlier in the month I had taken the car to a nationally well known service center, which had repaired my car unethically charging me for parts and labor not necessary for inspection. KREITZER'S was honest and upfront.

Had to replace the car battery and I found KREITZER'S very supportive and accommodating

I took my GMC 3500 in for a front end alignment. As always, Jim and staff were professional, friendly and provided me with a free loaner vehicle while they worked on my truck. In about two hours, I returned to the shop as my vehicle was ready, as promised. Another great job, above and beyond the service provided by their competitors, at a fair price. Thanks!

Found this service center on Angie's list with excellent reviews. Everyone I dealt with was friendly & professional. Offered a loaner car, which I took advantage of & was very thankful for. They did exactly what I asked for, explained everything in a clear and detailed manner and didn't once act as if it was a bother to answer a question. I feel these people are knowledgeable, honest and trustworthy, something which seems increasingly hard to find in an auto service provider. My vehicle needed nothing done immediately, but I will be returning to Kreitzer's for all of the work it does need. Would definitely recommend this business to others. BONUS ~ They give coupons for services that you can give to new customers, which in turn gives you a discount on your next service when someone redeems one.

I brought my 1999 GMC 3500 in for an oil change. The work was done in a timely manner, priced competitively, all the fluid levels were topped off, the chasis was lubed, etc. The owner is "hands-on" and honest! He also has free loaner vehicles to offer while he works on your car or truck. These folks are really nice, hard working, honest and polite. Their rates/prices are also very fair. You won't have to worry about any surprises with Kreitzers.

The battery in my 2006 Honda CRV finally died and I had to get a jump start. First next morning I called Kreitzer's Automotive and told Katy what happened. She told me to to bring the car in which I did. The replacement battery was waiting when I got there and was installed in short order. I was on my way with a brand new battery in less than an hour and the cost was very reasonable.
