Energy Efficiency Auditing
Install attic access panel, vents, install weather stripping and insulation where missing, install sealed air barriers where needed. Air seal around exhaust fans, plumbing, duct penetrations seams and gaps, & chimney. Seal air gaps above doors. Install dampers. Re-grade outdoors where needed.
The good:
Work done was completed promptly, thoroughly and in a workmanlike manner. Originally estimated to take 10 days; they were here 9 days due to a mutually agreed-upon reduction in the scope of work.
Improvements so far appear to have been effective.
The bad:
Messy. Need to do a better job of cleanup. Did a nominally better job after I said something; but still not great.
Seemed somewhat disorganized and poorly prepared. Generally arrived around 10 am and left no later than 4 pm saying they had run out of the supplies they needed to complete that day's work.
Some of the work the guys were asked to do seemed to fail outside of their area of expertise and competence.
