"Customer satisfaction and goodwill are very important to ServiceMaster. A ServiceMaster crew was dispatched on a holiday weekend at the request of this customer after they had sustained damage from a sewer backup. Prices were disclosed in writing prior to beginning the work, and no work was initiated until an Authorization form was signed. Upon completion of the job days later, a Certificate of Satisfaction and Payment Consent form was signed by the customer. Mitigation services that are provided by professional disaster restoration contractors are governed by industry standards (ANSI/IICRC S500) that dictate procedures, processes, and equipment types and quantities. ServiceMaster technicians are trained and certified to those standards. We regret that this customer has become dissatisfied after receiving the benefit of the work, but ServiceMaster believes that it has substantially and responsibly discharged its duty to them."
A rep did come out and was pleasant, but not very professional. He confirmed that I did have mole and gave me a verbal ball park estimate for the job. $4,000 to $5,000 plus. Suggested that rather than remove mole, buy heavy duty plastic and place it over mold on wood beams and staple it up.
I mentioned this to another rep from another company who came and gave me a free written estimate. He told me absolutely not. It would just cause bigger problems when the weather gets warm.
So, he was not very helpful. I was really surprised, since this company has such a good reputation.
