Been with this group for 3 + years.  Items have been broken; cloth flushed down toilet towards septic tank and repaired at THEIR expense; damage to two antique tables (finish damaged by use of caustic polish).  Owner is very nice.  Son of owner not very helpful but ok.  The work crew is very nice but require constant supervision to clean properly.  This may all boil down to the difficulty in finding quality employees in this business.

Merry Maids will not give an estimate over the phone - they require a home visit first.  This is the first item that made me uncomfortable about this company.  This is the only cleaning/maid service company that services my area, so I went ahead and scheduled the estimate visit.  The appointment time came and went, and nobody showed up.  I didn't even receive a phone call.  I called the company the next morning and the lady told me they had trouble finding my house and tried to call, but the number was out of service.  I told her that was impossible, as I was calling her from that very number.  Re-scheduled the estimate visit and this time they found the place.  I went ahead and scheduled the cleaning.
The maids arrived on the scheduled date, only slightly late.  I was required to provide nearly $300 in cash up front upon the maids arrival with the balance payable by credit card after the services were complete.  I was very uncomfortable with this payment arrangement - seemed shady.  There were two maids in my house for a total of about 6 hours.  They were instructed to clean the common areas and two guest bedrooms.  The rooms to be cleaned were Kitchen/dining room, two guest bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a sitting room.  The cleaning involved dusting, windows, and floors.  That's all that I had requested.
After about six hours, the maids said they were done and left my house.  As I was walking through the house after they left, I noticed many things.  The windows in the kitchen had not been cleaned - there was still dust and dirt all along the window sills.  The floors were still somewhat dirty.  Also, rather than removing items from the shelves for dusting, they dusted around the items.
All in all I was very displeased with the cleaning service I received for the price I paid.  Dusting, windows, and floors for seven rooms should not have cost nearly the amount I paid, and the cleaning was mediocre at best.  This company does not do laundry or dishes - I did not ask for these services, but it sure seems like they should be included with maid/cleaning service.  I advise everyone to avoid this company.

They did very very good work. They were very reliable, professional, fast and good quality. We had planned to use them for an hour and a half, we had a whole list of things for them to do in an hour and a half and they got it done well ahead of schedule so they were able to do additional thing and it was very nice.

Estimate was given on walk through of a small two bedroom ranch house and discussed everything  in particular the  hardwood floors, that needed to be damped mopped every other week. Girls arrived on time and was surprised that I was questioning why they weren't damp mopping. They said it wasn't on their list and didn't come prepared with any mops.  They called their office and were told to then damp mop with my swiffer.  The overall cleaning was just ok. My husband came home and found that there was significant dust under the chairs. Three and half weeks later I got a call from their office prior to my next cleaning telling me that only two hardwood floors would be damp mopped out of five at each service call. My question was how could you only clean two floors when there are five. Who would decide which two to damp mop? When I talked to the owner she told me they were in the business to make money and that damp mopping all the floors would take too much time. There were other issues that  occurred and was totally dissatified with the customer service. It seemed to me that they didn't want my business since they didn't try to keep the customer happy.

Horrid!!!!!!!!! They arrived to my house, 2 girls, and were here for over 1 1/2 hours. My house is less than 900 square feet. So given they were in my house for that long I was anticipating a spotless home. I did my walk through and initially noted that they had surface dusted several spots. Including several plants that were on the floor in the kitchen were not moved to sweep/mop under. Interestingly I got the comment that she was not sure if I wanted them to clean under there. Then I sent them on their way. I thought I would look around again since I only have 24 hours to report problems to them. I notice that they had not swept or mopped under the dining room table. So I called again and they came back to clean under my dining room table. After they left, my husband came home and he found even more issues. They had not swept away the cobwebs in the corners of the room. The top shelf in the bathtub had not been touched. They did not run a duster over any of the vanities. I can go on and on. Ironically, I was later informed that one of the girls that was here that day was their "quality control" supervisor. I called them and asked them to reimburse me, at minimum, their extra fee for first time cleaning. The person I spoke with indicated that they do not do that and they would come out and take care of the problem. Honestly I did not want them in my home 3rd time. She then indicated to me that she would speak with her supervisor and get back to me. I have yet to receive a phone call and weeks have past.
