Mark1 Restoration service inc

It went Terrible. I had a flood in my kitchen caused by another company. Mark1 Restoration was recommended by my homeowners insurance carrier for the remediation work. I noticed that they also do kitchen repair and renovation. I called their office to ask that they come out to provide an estimate for the repair. They were responsive as, "Denny" came to my house within the week to review. Curiously, however, hestarted to perform a remediation review. I questioned him about this since the remediation was complete and I desperately needed repair/renovation. After a convoluted response, he began talking about the repair. He was at my home for about 45 minutes, as we discussed what I wanted and what was possible given my kitchen size and layout. He concluded the visit by stating that he would be in touch. with the estimate. I apologized for the rocky start, he likewise apologized. After a week, I called to inquire about thestatus of the estimate. I left a message on "Denny's" voice mail. Another week went by without any response or the courtesy of a return call. I called Mark1 again and this time asked to speak with the manager. I was told that "Denny" was the office manager, but I was put in touch with "Alan" the "second in command." After speaking with "Alan", he stated that "Denny" was tied up on "major" renovations, but "Alan" promised he would call me back that same day. Of course, I never heard back from "Alan" either. A few days later, I called again. I was told that neither "Denny" nor "Alan" we're "available", but I could leave them a message. I declined since they do not return calls, or at least, they do not return MY calls. This a terrible way to do business. If Mark1 Restoration decided that they did not want to take on my job, because it was too small, or because they did not want to work with me, then the honorable and repectful thing to do would have been to tell me, not give me the run around and make promises that they never intended to keep. Stay away from them. They are not an honorable or respectful business.

Tim and Jason showed up at our house right on time. We told them what had happened and showed them the damaged areas. They used a mold detector to search for mold. No mold was detected ( we had gotten rid of most of it after discovering leak), but they then sprayed the mold killer anyway to reassure us. They also took the time to recover the big hole in our drywall, since it had previously been coverd by us. They did a much better job than me and even cut out the extra lightswitch. This entire job cost us nothing! We were so stressed out over finding the leak that the thought of a mold problem was almost too much. Cost was definitely a huge concern, not knowing what would be found. We definitely did not expect the level of service we received and then no bill at the end. It turned our crappy week around. The two men were very professional. Explained what they were doing the entire time. Also, we appreciated the plant- based mold killer.
