They were fantastic! Joe, who came out, assessed the situation, gave us the proposal and took care of our oil tank. They were very good!

It was an extremely hot week and the guys started very early in order to beat the heat. They worked a few long days in order to shorten the overall length of the job. It was hard, messy work but they crew did a fantastic job staying organized and cleaning up as they went. They installed two wall units on the first floor and added flexible ducts and vents in all 5 of the 2nd floor rooms which run off the main outdoor unit. This involved cutting through ceilings and walls, which of course made me nervous, but they knew what they were doing and handled it with ease. This system will allow us to be comfortable in the summer and winter and reduce our use of oil to heat the home. We're very pleased and happy to have had Joe, Cody and the crew take such good care of us and our home. Thank you!!

They have been servicing the units for years I don't have to bother with them. Very professional. They come-Do work-cleaned up & say goodbye when done. Never had a problem 25+ years.

I have been using Harned Durham Energy since 2007 for all heating oil deliveries, as well as annual inspection and service of the furnace. All contacts with this company have been positive, including dealing with the clerical and billing staff. The mechanics who do the furnace serving perform their tasks quietly, efficiently, and do all necessary cleanups before leaving. I highly recommend Harned Durham Energy.

Day one was spent on electrical service. Our existing 100 amp fuse box and auxiliary boxes were not grounded properly. Electric service was disconnected, meter was relocated, new supply wiring, new breaker box, grounding rod, conduit, wire routing. Electric dryer was relocated, ran conduit, new recepticle and dryer venting. Electric service restored.
Day two was spent on oil to gas conversion of our HW boiler. UGI had supplied gas to the outside of house. H-D drained and removed our oil tank, fuel line, etc. Installed chimney liner, cleaned boiler, converted our boiler to gas, ran gas line into house, made connections, checked and fine tuned operation. They cleaned the entire area before they left. Very satisfied with their work.

Came out and did a thorough review, provided quote, revised as necessary and performed all the removal and new installation work on time, as scheduled. Cleaned up afterwards. Great service!

Everything went very well. Removal of old equipment and installation of new equipment was completed by three technicians. The full job took two days to complete. However, they worked extra hours on the first day in order to get my hot water working before leaving. The oil burner was not needed yet because we were not using the heat yet, since this was early fall. The installation of the burner was completed on the second day.
I was so impressed by the professionalism of the technicians. If I would happen to walk past them, I would hear them discussing work. They were extremely focused on the job, and they were also very friendly and pleasant. I wish I could give them an A++!
The heat has been on, and the water heater has been working since the day they installed it. The water heater is GREAT! The temperature is consistent, and there's plenty hot water.
I also appreciated Joe's help in finding a contractor who would remove the in-ground oil tank. When I began to interview contractors regarding the oil to gas conversion, I did not know that my in-ground oil tank would need to be removed. It's amazing how much misinformation there is out there. Many contractors just don't want to talk about this part of the process. One contractor (NOT Harned Durham) actually suggested that he would cut the top off of my oil tank and let ME fill it with sand! This was a very bad idea, as doing so would likely eventually cause ground contamination that I would be required to have cleaned up! Thankfully, Joe from Harned Durham was able to explain the process and refer me to a reputable excavator.
If you're looking into converting from oil to gas, realize that there are three phases to this project, each of which may require a separate contractor. First, you will need your gas supplier to run a line to your house, if you do not already have one. In my case, this was done by UGI. You may then wish to use most of the oil that's in your tank. In my case, while we were trying to do this, the oil burner became very noisy and we believed that it might fail. So, I scheduled the conversion with Joe. Lastly, the oil tank will probably need to be removed. In my case, the tank is below ground, so this is a project in itself. I have removed all the shrubs from the area over the oil tank, and I'm now waiting for the excavator to schedule the tank removal.

When we met with the Service Manager he was clear and honest about the needs for the house. Being a smaller home, he did not try to oversell us with a bigger unit than was necessary. He explained everything so my mother could make sense of it all. And the price was below what we expected. I did some research and knew it was very good. The service team was there within a week and had all the work done in the same day, up and running by 2pm. And to my surprise, the Service manager stopped by at 7 o clock that night on his way home to make sure all was working properly. Also the technicians were very careful to practice clean work habits. Would highly recommend this company!home
