Fantastic work. Bob is truly an expert carpenter and the woodworking is phenomenal. Our favorite part of the new room is the vaulted ceiling with a really beautiful exposed beam at the top. In addition to his own exceptional carpentry skills, Bob is talented with other trades as well including plumbing and electrical. He did sub-out a portion of the electrical because we had a tight schedule. Bob's knowledge and connections ensured that there were no unexpected bumps and he smoothly handled any problems that came up (e.g. the fireplace we ordered had a crack in it - Bob helped us get it replaced.) All in all, we couldn't be happier with the work and the exceptional value that we received! A+ recommendation.

The work, from permits and drawings to be able to live in the room took under 3 months. We came in dead-on for our budget. Bob was flexible in terms of scheduling and accommodating when my wife changed her mind (e.g. changing the window types she wanted after Bob had already ordered them). He was absolutely professional and trustworthy - we gave him the key to the house when we went on vacation so the project could continue. He was remarkably tidy, making sure that none of the lumber, tools, etc. were left out where are kids could get at them, and always making sure to minimize the dirt and dust that could get into the house. Again - the quality was just top notch. The whole experience was an A+ and I'd strongly recommend him to anyone looking for home improvement, remodeling, additions, etc.
Description of Work: We added a family room to our existing home. In addition, we moved the existing laundry room to the new area, making a mud room. We hired Robert Norton to be the builder and general contractor for all of the work. The results are fantastic. The finished project is a 430 sq foot addition to our home, including a 56 sq foot mud room with exterior access and an expanded kitchen where the laundry room used to be. Bob's quality and craftsmanship are fantastic. For example, we wanted vaulted ceilings in the new family room for an open feel. Bob gave us suggestions on the best design for the ceilings, then built it to look even better than he described. He finished it with an exposed beam, which he built by hand, that has gotten numerous compliments from friends and neighbors. Without getting into details, Bob's quote - which included the construction as well as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, etc. was dead-on and lower than many of the other bids we received for the work. We couldn't be happier with the value we got for our money, the quality of the work and Bob's overall friendliness, professionalism and attention to detail.
