We contacted Lasko for an estimate on a $50,000+ remodel of our kitchen. The representative initially asked for us to take measurements of the kitchen and come to their showroom. When I objected to doing their work for them on a project of this cost, size and complexity (I needed walls relocated) they agreed to come out and measure. In the end we cancelled the appointment because we found contractors who were willing to do the work. If I wanted to do the work myself I wouldn't be hiring a contractor. I think it's inappropriate to ask a customer to perform their work for them and I felt it indicated the type of service I would receive during the remodeling process.
