We had a "redirector" virus, and he told me over the phone and in person that he could remove it.
I set an appoint time and showed up with my CPU.
He seemed distracted and surprised to see me, but took note of what was wrong and promised he would clear everything out and re-install our system.
He asked who used it and I explained that just my husband Larry and I used it, we shared the use of the computer on an equal basis.
I was told I could pick the computer up in 1 week.  Since I left it on a Friday night, I told him I would be back on the following Saturday in the early afternoon.  When I showed up, he again seemed surprised, and he had not done any work on my unit.
He then proceeded to unload all of our files and programs on to another hard drive, while I waited, & clear our whatever virus's we had.  He asked me again what my husband's name was, and I said Larry.  He proceeded to re-load our files, but he set up some protective architechture and passwords that I did not ask for. He was done, after about 1 1/2 hours, but when we set up back at home, we now had to sign on and select "Terry's computer" (not Larry).  He had configured things as if we were in a workplace and shared use of a single terminal, so I had to identify myself as "Terry" to even log on. He also added a password proctected "Admin" layer that had not been there before, and that was not requested to be added.
When I called him about it, he explained that this was better because people who used the same computer needed this kind of separation (???).  Funny thing, we did not need it before, and had not asked for this kind of set up.  He did not offer to correct any of it, even when I said neither of us was named "Terry",. and I did not want to risk taking it back to him.
My advice, in short, is to run away from this service and find someone who listens to you and does what you ask, in the time frame they promise.  Do not use Joe Computer Doctor.

He was a nightmare, he destroyed all my hard drive stuff, he could have downloaded it somewhere else. Then he didn't even repair it and charged me 100 dollars. I lost all my information. That was a mistake. He did a terrible thing to me.

Joe did a nice job, he fixed our e-mail problem, organized my "desktop" much better, and made our computer faster. Our computer is 8 years old, so it isn't "lightning fast", but it is faster now. He also explained a number of things that I asked about. Joe gave me directions to reload my printer software. I had a couple of ? after loading my printer software so I called Joe and he "walked" me thru it.

I was having difficulties with my laptop. At first the issues were small and annoying but they progressed to the point the entire system would freeze shortly after booting up no matter which or any applications were being used. After researching on computer repair here on Angies List and on the Verizon SuperPages Gaurantee site I chose to contact Joe. After listening to the problems I was experiencing, he suspected the problem was corupption of the operating system. He quoted a price and the said it usually could be done in 24 hrs. I dropped the laptop off and recieved a call the following day to pick up. I inspected it and found some minor issues, which Joe resolved quickly. Laptop is working perfectly now and seems even faster than before. Overall I found Joe to be very professional and conscientious.

Very well! Tried at first to help me over the phone. Was very friendly and helpful. never made me feel dumb for not knowing computer stuff. Was very available. dropped off computer to his house on Saturday and had it back by Tues. Computer works great. few little quirks, but I am sure when I call him it will be resolved. Price was good. Will use him again and recommend him. seems to know his stuff.

Been back many times since 2009. We own 4 laptops and a desktop computer. I have always been satisfied. He has even helped me for free with tips over the phone so that I did not have to bring computer in. He has given me good advice on what computers to buy and what programs my daughter should use for her photography so that we would not have to buy an Apple! He has also made himself available in emergency situations where we needed help immediately or needed something fixed over a week end quickly.

The project went very well overall. I would definitely call Joe the Computer Doctor again whenever my computer should give me problems.
