It started off sending in for a quote via their website, which clearly stated that we only wanted to be quoted on materials for a tan vinyl fence. The quote we got back was for them installing a white vinyl fence. Called back and got a new estimate, this time with no labor costs but for a white vinyl fence. Finally the 3rd quote was right. After weighing our options we decided to have them install it, and we picked them because their quote was the lowest.
We were willing to forget the multiple wrong quotes because mistakes happen, however in hindsight it was an indication of how the rest of our experience would go. They had Carmen come to our house to measure and make sure that the quote they gave was accurate based on the work that needed to be done. We explained our trouble with our neighbor and the fact that he had cameras all around his property. He was constantly walking on their property and standing there, right in front of the cameras. There was no need to go onto our neighbors property, there was plenty of space on our side to walk and explain everything to us.
Before we signed our contract we explained that my fiancée was going to be taking off of work (unpaid) because of issues with our neighbor. We scheduled for Monday the 10th, and told if anything were to change we would be contacted. We were contacted and told that they were a week behind and it would not be done on Monday. We completely understand that things can be behind and have no problems doing a different date.
We managed to rearrange everything and rescheduled for the 18th, the office told us that they would contact us Monday to let us know if Tuesday was still a go. We had to call them Monday because we did not hear anything from them, and we were told that they had a little left to finish at another job and would be at our house at 11am. He told the office that he would take the full day instead of a half day to make sure he was here. At 1215 no one was at our house and there was no phone call letting us know that they were running late, he called the office and they said they were grabbing lunch and would be over after. No problem. 230 comes and no one is at our house, and there was no phone call. He calls the office back again and speaks to one of the owners. He tells my fiancée that it's hard to give a definite time when they will be at our house, and that someone had called off that morning. Again, we understand that unforeseen circumstances happen but that should have been communicated with us. My fiancée could've went into work and only missed a few hours versus a whole day of pay.
The installers got to our house at 330 and brought all the materials needed. They were really awesome and polite. Everything was explained to them about what we needed done since he could not take another unpaid day off. When Carmen came to our house, he told us that we would have to cut our chain link fence down to allow their machine to get through and dig the holes, and we did. When the installers got there we then found out that all we needed to do was take the gate off, and the machine would've been able to get into our yard. We were also told by the office how they install fences is they dig and set all the posts first, then come back to do the panels. When the installers got to our house they told us that that's not how you install a fence and they're not sure why we were told that.
I sent an email to the company explaining all of the above and how I was really disappointed and frustrated with the lack of communication, and I did not get a reply. I went in yesterday to pay my final balance and nothing was even mentioned about the email, or an apology.
I have nothing but praise for the installers, our fence looks great and they did it in 1 day. It's a shame I won't be using this company again because the installers themselves do great work.
