Pocono Peak Veterinary Center

After spending ~$300 in exam and diagnostics and a bottle of supplement, I had to take him to Emergency vet over the weekend for severe constipation that was causing most of the trouble. This is the second time that has happened (the first one in November 2016). The almost exact same scenario: comprehensive bloodwork and whatnots. Within a few days I end up in Emergency Vet with a bill upwards of $600 for treatment of severe constipation that included enema, pain meds, hospital stay et. Either they're incompetent at diagnosis or just too busy doing business and forgetting the more basic if not higher purpose: Animal wellness and healthcare.

Luckily the injury was minor. Our pet was given a thorough check by the vet.  We also received a follow-up call the next day asking how she was doing.  This group is truly professional.  I have seen 3 different vets at Pocono Peak as sometimes my primary vet is on vacation.  All have been extremely professional and very knowledgeable.  They take time with each client and do not rush the visit just to get to the next patient.  All the staff expresses a very genuine concern for the animals they see.    Pocono Peak was recommended by our neighbor when we got our dog and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet that will provide excellent care to their pet.

Dr. Sammy is a very caring person, she's head the practice. She is an expert on dogs but she also has person there who's expert with cats. They're very thorough and they're very caring, and she's gotten us food, some tough stuff for our dog. She was a vet for our previous dog as well and helped us through having to put her down. She's been really super--she's really wonderful.

They are knowledgeable. Our dog has had surgery there. They are really excellent and very caring. We had to have the dog before this euthanized there and they were very, very caring, very concerned and very helpful. They are top notch. They are excellent.

Reliable for routine checkups and shots, but when your cat
gets sick her and her team really provide excellent care.
This past fall she performed surgery on my Cat Frack to
remove a tumor. The surgery was a huge success;
he is now back to normal eating, playing and is very happy.
It’s very obvious that that the whole team cares for the
animals they provide services for. I would definitely recommend this group.

It is easy to get an appointment and they are very kind to the animals. Their pricing is average. Excellent quality of service. They are very knowledgeable. Responsiveness and Punctuality is excellent. They are very professional.

This vet used to be known as East Stroudsburg Veterinary Hospital, the name has changed but they still provide great service! I brought two cats ages 10 and 16 for wellness check-ups and rabies shots, and I wanted to consult with the vet about our plans to adopt a dog.
I've been to this office before under its old name to get a cat spayed (I had a great experience then, too), and it's still clean, bright and cheerful. It has friendly staff members and a convenient location. I called early in the day was able to get an appointment for the same afternoon.
When I arrived, staff member Monica (she's fantastic!) called me promptly and put me in a large room. My oldest cat, Rose, is unpredictable, and Monica gave her time to roam around the room and get used to her surroundings before the doc came in for the exam. I think that made a huge difference and really helped calm Rose down. Monica also called my last vet to get updated records for my other cat, who hadn't been to this office before.
This was my first meeting with Dr. Bongiorno, she introduced herself, shook my hand, asked my name and the cats' names before touching them. She gave the exams and shots, with Monica assisting. Both were interested in the cats' histories and temperaments, asked questions about them and took the time to answer all my (many!) questions as well. They were gentle with the cats, quick and professional with the shots. I never felt rushed and they were as nice to me as they were to the cats.
The cost was very reasonable for the level of care provided, and I was given a discount for bringing both animals at once. I'll definitely be back to this vet again, I've been to several in the area looking for an office I feel comfortable with. I'm so glad to have found this place to be our regular vet! A+ to Pocono Peak Veterinary Center!
