My wife qnd I are both phycially disabled. We have had quite a bit of trouble getting reliable plumbing services at a price that was fair. We have used the services of a national chain, and later a local home repair orgainzation to which we subscribed and paid a monthly service contract fee. The prices of the nation chan went through the roof, and the local organization left us hanging, waiting for a plumber to show up (the service fee was supposed to guarantee immediate service, but in this case, it didn't). When the plumber finally did arrive... well, let's just say he had and quot;issuesand quot;. So when our hot-water heater started leaking, we were desperate for a good plumbert. This is when we joined Angies List.
We found Donald F. Motts Plumbing and Heating on the list. His reviews sounded excellent, so we called him on Thursday, March 8, 2012. He told us his truck was in the shop, but he expected it to be out by noon on Friday, the 9th. He promised to be at our home shortly after lunch. He was. He arrived at approximately 12:45, righ on time!
We had asked for an estimate for the new hot-water heater. After providing him with the measurements of the old one, he priced the new unit, and gave us a quote of and quot;aroundand quot; $550.00 to $575.00. The final price was $565.00.
The total installation, including draining the old unit, took approximately two hours. The quality of the installation was excellent! You can take my word for this, because before my physical disabilities set in, I was in the construction trades, and did plumbing. After inspecting the workmanship of his installation, I couldn't find one thing I would have done differently. It was a class and quot;Aand quot; job.
Much to our suprise, the following morning we received a phone call from Don. He was calling to see if everything was working properly, and to ensure that we were satisfied with the job. Needless to say, we were. Mr. Motts will be doing ALL of our plumbing and heating work for as long as he is in business.
All in all, the price was right, his work was excellent, he arrived on time (and in time), he was honest, and a true gentleman to deal with. His service is better than having a relative in the business.
