Quote was $2,250.00 plus an additional $200.00 extra for crusher waste. After tearing up driveway he noticed drainage pipe from gutter was broken. Gave verbal permission to purchase pipe and replace broken pipe at an additional cost of $650. We paid 1/3 down and also gave him a check for the pipe and labor to lay it. Told us there should be three dry days before laying asphalt. Also said pipe would not break if we drove over it. It was 2 weeks before we heard anything from Mr.Hershey and I contacted him. Told me he would be here middle of next week. He did not show up and the drainage pipe broke. Still giving excuses why he can not finish the driveway. When he was told the job must be finished by the end of 7-19-13 he said he would take us to court.
Description of Work: Removed old asphalt from driveway(June 6th. Add 1ft to driveway and added existing crusher waste. Additional work was replacing drainage pipe from end of gutter to street. Also tore out and replaced two pieces of sidewalk.

The man they sent was on time, courteous, and, I assume, did the work properly. The only difficulty arose when we received the bill, but had only 6 wooden stakes for our money. Following some discussion, Mr. Hershey graciously agreed to provide us with two "sealed" survey plats for our properties, a service he said would usually cost an additional $100. The transaction ended amicably. Any misunderstanding could have been avoided if we both had made our expectations clear in writing from the beginning.
Description of Work: This company performed a survey of our 1/4 acre residential lot and the ajoining neighbors' property as well. The price was for both surveys. It would have been better if Mr. Hershey and I had discussed what we expected the survey to include BEFORE the work started.
