S & A HOMES

Description of Work: We bought an existing S & A home. There are a few things I like about it: the general layout and the neighborhood. Most everything else, from the quality of their work to the warranty of their workmanship are severely lacking. We should have known when the home inspector told us that "the house was pretty good for an S and A home". Upon moving in, we found that the dryer vent hole was cut an inch too small, which required an immediate fix (at our expense) so we could install our dryer. Our roof has leaked a number of times; their roofing subcontractor never would call us back and S & A said they were not responsible for fixing it. Thankfully, we found a very good roofer that fixes every problem we encounter! Our vinyl shutter came flying off the house during a windstorm, breaking one of our windows and damaging the neighbors house. Again, they did not see any reason that they should help, despite the fact the house was just a couple of years old and the shutter had clearly been improperly installed. Finally, after I called for a number of items that I would have considered covered under their "full 10 year warranty", I was told it really was only meant to cover foundation issues. Thankfully, that is one thing that has been somewhat OK...
