The price in total was relatively high, though of all the quotes we gathered, it was not the highest. Other than that, it was great. We worked with Andrew - he made the process very enlightening and relatively enjoyable. Very professional, very knowledgeable, and best of all, very good about communicating with us in a timely manner. He gave us tons of information and seemed very excited to do so. The 2 guys that came to do the installation were also professional, clean cut, and nice....one of them was Andrew's partner Rodney, so the people that do quotes also do the actual work. The installation took about 1 and a half days, so they took the time to make sure they got everything right (most people we talked to would try to slap everything together within 1 day). So far we have had the new system for 2 weeks and it is all working well. We are confident that we made the right decision in going with Apple Comfort and in getting the equipment we got.

Once the heater failed again, I called Apple Comfort back this past Monday, February 24, and they sent a tech out that evening. Not only did he charge me another $99.00 diagnostic fee, but wanted to charge an additional $164.00 to install a new igniter. I told him to leave at that point. This work is supposed to be guaranteed, so the second diagnostic charge is ridiculous and unacceptable. Also, the first diagnosis was not entirely correct- if they had checked the igniter first they may have seen that it was bad or about to go bad. This is about a 25-30 dollar part and labor takes only about 15 minutes, which my cousin, who works for Accutech Mechanical, proved by installing a new igniter last evening. So far, the heater is working fine now, and all my future heating needs will go to Accutech. Since this all started, I've been quoted prices of 350-400.00 for the furnace board and installation by three different contractors. I feel like I was taken advantage of and overcharged by at least 300.00. In my eyes, as well as the eyes of many I've discussed this with, the second call should have been included in the guarantee and the issue corrected without further charges. If they diagnosed the control board as the issue and that didn't fully fix the problem, then the diagnosis was not correct, at least not completely. I understand that I have an old (Bryant) heater but that doesn't change the fact that this place is just way over priced and, to be honest, one of the techs was somewhat rude when I called him on the pricing and the fact that the igniter should have been replaced initially, which would have saved me almost $600.00. The whole experience just left me with a bad feeling. I would not call Apple Comfort/One Hour again.
Response from Apple Comfort's One Hour Heating & Air

"[member name removed] called for service and we responded; after thoroughly checking the unit, including igniter, the control board was recommended to be replaced. He authorized the repair and the amount at that time. We followed up the day after and installed a new board, had to pull blocked air filter. The subsequent call was diagnosed as a bad igniter, which was the correct diagnosis, but installed by others. [member name removed] was refunded the second diagnostic fee and was very complimentary of our technicians."

We chose to work with Apple Comfort to replace our HVAC unit in 2012. The installation was a disaster, the technicians didn't wire the thermostat correctly, they had to come out numerous times until they got it wired right -- including once after midnight because the heat was running in July when it was supposed to be AC. I do give them props for standing by their work and coming back out to rectify the situation but I feel they should get these things right the first time. After the initial install, we used them for annual maintenance (once or twice a year cleaning). The last contact we had was calling for annual maintenance in November 2013, my wife called to schedule the appointment and got a price of $300 for cleaning. When she told me the price, we decided to cancel because the going rate for cleaning for a 2 year old unit was less than $100. She called back and spoke with the owner, he said they could do a "lower quality" cleaning for less money. When my wife asked him what the difference between the higher priced service and lower was, he couldn't answer -- saying only "you have to talk to one of my techs". She pressed him for answers and he laughed at her. We canceled the appointment and went with Doylestown Air which is a VERY respectable company who doesn't laugh at their customers and their service was priced right. We're very pleased with Doylestown Air.

The air conditioner did not work when we got the 85+ weather in September. The blower needed to be cleaned and fixed the problem. We have been using Apple Comfort since our original electric HVAC system died in 2007. They were 1 of 3 quotes and were Trane dealers, the other two were not. Based on the systems from the other two I talked to, 1 never came back with a quote and the other was slightly cheaper. But the warranties on the Trane were better than the other systems offered by the other two service companies. We also had at the time a whole house air cleaner added to the HVAC at the same time. We have been extremely happy with Apple Comfort. They are a little pricer than the competition, but with the passport program we receive free and quot;tune-upsand quot;. Because they are part of One-Hour now, the prices are also set for all their services. We also used them to install our water heater because they use quality equipment and took the old tank with them.

I would not use them again. They did not just treat me very good. They were just all about how much money they can get for every little thing and they did not seem to offer anything except like the bare minimum.

Response from Apple Comfort's One Hour Heating & Air

"As the customer noted we came out and performed a diagnosis on her system, presented our findings and the price to repair the system before doing any work, which is our policy. Had we installed the system, our 10 year warranty would have covered the part but since we had not, we quoted her the cost for the repair out of our Straight Forward pricing guide. After learning the system was only two years old we advised the customer to call the builder because we believed the system might have been under warranty and the repair covered saving the customer the cost for the part and labor. We are pleased to hear that the customers system was fixed although we are a bit surprised the part was not covered under warranty since the system was only two years old. We take great pride in doing what's best for a customer and as the customers statement indicates we did exactly that."

We were experiencing a strong exhaust smell throughout the house after another company performed annual maintenance on our furnace. Decided to call a contractor we found on Angie's list. The response was excellent and the price was fair. However, the quality of their work was not what I expected. Although the technician was polite and informative, he left dirty fingerprints all over our basement door. In addition, I wasn't happy with the way he attempted to seal any leaks in the flue and furnace. He basically used high temperature duct tape which fell off within a couple of days. Instead joints should have been filled with a high temperature caulk, which I did myself the following weekend.

The service was superb. They were very efficient, clean and neat, and they picked up and cleaned up after themselves. You could not even tell they were there and the owner of the company came to inspect the work as well. As a female, often times when hiring contractors some contractors would rather talk to my husband. The salesman did such a great job and was so respectful that is why we chose their service.

Oil heater was not working. They replaced a pressure valve, but the heater only ran for about four more days before quitting. Apple came out several times and had difficulty diagnosing the problem. All in all, they did a good job trying to figure out the problem over a period of at least two weeks. I spent about $550 for the pressure valve and several diagnostic visits. I would recommend this company for the care they took in placing me at the top of the list each day I was without heat and their tenacity in trying to fix the problem. Very polite, good service!

Salesman came out and looked at job said he would give send me a quote in a day or two. Three days went by and I did not receive a written quote (or email) had to call to get a verbal price which was considerably higher that two other quotes I received.

After receiving three additional quotes from other companies, the price from Apple was the highest. My decision was to go with the least expensive quote. My decision was based on price. Apple offers excellent customer service. I would go to them again for other work I might need, and I would recommend them to others.

We had an oil furnace that just wasn't doing its job. We called Apple and two other contractors. Apple's presentation showed more thought and planning than the other two. They offered us four solutions for HVAC systems, along with long range plans for future work, should we choose to do something else (we have an enclosed porch that has no heat. Apple offered a simple solution for both heat and air conditioning if we choose to do so in the future). After considering all the options, we selected Apple for their price and their attitude. Andrew was extremely helpful, answering all our questions and concerns. He responded to every phone call with detailed explanations. We went forward on May 23rd with demolition of all the cast iron radiators, pipes, oil tank and old furnace. Rodney, Chris and Matt got it all out of the house in three days (an amazing job considering the house is 3500 sq ft and three stories tall!). They laid down carpeting, plastic and cardboard to protect the floors and walls. They cleaned each day after they were completed, and they weren't even that noisy in the job. The ducts went in without incident. Rodney worked very h****** figuring out how to make the ducts as indistinguishable as possible. The furnace was in and fired up on time. The A/C was working and we enjoyed a cool night of sleep for the first time during the heat wave in May. They made suggestions during the installation, kept to the schedule, came back to address a small issue of wiring (one of the GSI outlets kept firing off. It turned out to be something else unrelated to the furnace installation.) Apple did no damage of any kind to the property, made changes to the existing structure with as little impact as necessary to do the installation properly and left the house cleaner than when they arrived. They even made some changes to the system that improved performance without adding to the bottom line. My end result is a clean, modern and highly efficient furnace that was installed in 10 days, was under the estimates of their competitors without having to give up any quality and worked perfectly the first time it was fired up. We are very happy with the work, with the Apple team and highly recommend them for heating, air conditioning and evaluation of your current system.

Apple Comfort installed my HVAC several years ago, and have maintained it yearly since. I have had a couple of renovations since, and they have cleaned the ducts and made minor repairs. Have had several of their technicians work here and always found them professional and respectful of the property. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

This couldn't have been better. They actually gave us more than we bargained for. On their own, they decided the Rinnai R75 model would be a better fit than the R50 we contracted for, and did not charge additional for this upgrade. They also resolved an unforeseen condensate drainage problem by adding a floor pump to the system, again at no additional cost. They replaced the simple but perfectly functioning thermostat with a new programmable unit. I don't recall seeing that on the contract but again, no additional charge. The price for all this was very good, AND, they offer an internet coupon discount which was deducted from the final cost. We could not have been more pleased. We would definitely recommend Apple Comfort to anyone and use them again.

The central a/c in my home was over 20 years old. I also wanted to remove the air handler from a bedroom closet and relocate it to a less obtrusive place. Talked to other companies and was told that the units I needed were too large to be put anywhere but the closet. Joe, from Apple Comfort, came out and took more measurements than anyone else. He looked at several areas to relocate the air-handler. His final recommendation was that I did not need as large a unit as previously recommended due to the size of the house. He also found a place to relocate the handler, getting it out of the bedroom closet. Apple Comfort began and completed the job as promised and on budget. During their work, they put the compressor in the wrong spot. When the error was pointed out, they corrected it immediately.
