Bernardo's Seamless Gutters & Home Improvement

We thought that seamless gutters meant gutter guards. Our bad, we're not familiar with gutter terms. The salesman never recommended them with a 3 story house (like we could get up to the roof to care for them.) So after they were installed we had to request them to order. They wanted to have the back porch gutter hang over the walkway supported by a shepherds hook and drain from about 8ft above ground into a small old pond that we emptied to fill in. Around the empty pond is a small retaining wall. We did not want to cause any damage to the wall with extra water in it. Not to mention it was a horrible, ugly idea. My husband and I went to buy a rain barrel since the shepherds hook was the best thing they could professionally come up with to allow the gutter to drain. They attached the gutters to large pipes, so they would drain (above ground). So we now look at our beautiful home and see a network of ugly white pipe around our house. None that we have talk to have seen such a setup nor have we seen such an instance to expect this network of pipe above ground. One pipe blocks safe access to our cellar (tripping hazard). They never mentioned the pipe would be visible nor did they suggest to bury the pipes or suggest a company who did that sort of work. There is 1 opening out of the pipe on both sides of the house. When it rains, all the water puddles there and has made swampy conditions in our yard where our children play. They came back to install the guards and just showed up. Never a call or heads up. Left trash. When it started raining after their work with the guards, a small roof that covers an addition for a powder room started leaking and ruined the ceiling. Called them because we knew they were on that roof to install the guards. They used screws to attach the gutters/guards in that roof. They had to of at least stood on the roof to complete the work if not have a ladder on it. When they finally came out, they said if was a preexisting problem. And tried to do more work. I said no, I'll call my homeowners and tell everyone in this town the horrible experience we are still going through. We just paid $3,354 for their service. Do we need scam them out of a less than $200 fix? No. Did we need them to guide us through this home improvement? Yes. We acted like the salesman. We had to ask for upgrades. Then they say, our home that has been upgraded through and through, who we purchased from successful town Dr. and Dentist wife and husband, that has just been inspected for sale.... had a preexisting problem. The People we bought the house from were dishonest? The inspectors were untruthful with their report to all parties? And we, their customer were making this all up for a minuscule amount of damage? We are going to take care of the restroom. But we will never recommend this business or speak highly of it. ***Terrible customer service.***

We encountered Bernardo's Seamless Gutter at the DuBois Builder Show in March 2012. We discussed our project and they arranged a time to come to our home to provide an estimate for a new roof and some siding.

When the man arrived to provide the estimate, he persisted in recommending that I include gutters in the estimate as well. I told him I didn't need new gutters, as mine were working fine. He said our gutter system was and quot;outdatedand quot; and he hadn't seen one like it in at least 12 years. I told him gutters were not in my budget and as long as they were working I was not interested in replacing them at this time. He insisted that he would include gutters in the esimate. I told him to go ahead, but please keep the gutter estimate separate because I knew I wasn't planning to include that in the project.

He spent the better part of a Saturday morning measuring, etc. and said we'd have an esimate in about a week.
That was the last we ever heard from him. We never got the estimate, a phone call, or any further correspondence.

I was disappointed to have wasted a Saturday morning with nothing to show for it.

eric wolf was on site manager ibelieve.i think he is a great asset to bernardos.he was professional and experienced . he kept the site clean as he went.no need to back track and clean up later. when they left it was like they were never there. what a refreshing change from our previous contractor . no short cuts . just an outstanding and professional job . mr wolf seems to take pride in his work. i am very happy we hired them

I would recommend them. I spent about $7000 because the front porch roof needed to be rebuilt. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Company gave us a detailed estimate for a roof replacement. The estimate included the cost of removing and disposing the old roof; cost for dumpster rental; cost of shingles; underlayment and labor. The project took no more than a week. They stayed with the project until completed. They are friendly and professional, and they do quality work at a reasonable price.
