Unfortunately, he couldn't clean the chimney due to its design.  However, he did provide a lot of helpful information about the chimney and advised me of some design defects that would need to be addressed.  In addition, scheduling the service was easy, he arrived on time for the appointment, and he did a professional job in all respects.  I also appreciated that he didn't charge the full price since he couldn't do the cleaning.  Ultimately, anyone would be happy to have this gentleman in his house.

. Called and made an appointment for a few days later. Lou showed up at 8:30 A.M., just like he said he would and was a pro the whole time during the estimate. We worked out a day around the weather to get the job done. Again, 8:30 was his start time, and showed exactly that time. He went straight to work and I could tell ( I worked construction) he knew his stuff. We talked sports a bit while he was inside, but that didn't put the brakes on the job. All I can say is hire Lou Curley's Chimney Service for a great job and great service.

I called Lou because of all his safety credentials and good reviews on Angie's List. He came on time and prepared and got right to work. He was very professional and inspected everything very thoroughly. I felt I had made the right hire and was glad to have piece of mind regarding safety of my family.

Lou returned my call in a few hours and put me on the schedule at his earliest opening, about 10 days later.  He showed up right when promised and efficiently reviewed our fireplace and chimney.  He noted some issues that needed to be addressed but we discussed and he was clear that they did not need to happen right away, but to continue with regular inspections and down the road plan to have the fireplace re-lined.  He also inspected the dryer vent and found it to be in good shape.  He was very professional and courteous and, even though he found some issues, did not try to push me into repairs or a full cleaning of the chimney.  I plan to use him again.

Lou came out at the time we had agreed to.  He fixed the damper in the fireplace.  He inspected everything related to the fireplace and found that my flue caps were rusted.  He replaced them.  My chimney did not need to be swept.  I bought the house this summer and wanted to make sure everything was safe before using the fireplace.  He was very thorough and professional.  A very nice guy!  I will definitely be using him again for my next inspection.

I called Lou for a chimney sweep. He was polite, knowledgable and on time. Most important he was honest. He came to my home prepared to do a sweep but was honest enough to tell me that he strongly recommended repair work. It was the type of work he did not do and said it will be a waste of money to do a sweep before the repairs are done. He didnt have to say this as I would not have known . The trip to my home and the chimney inspection took several hours out of his schedule and he refused any offer of some payment from me. For this reason I will call Lou every year for my maintenance.

Lou called back within an hour of my message and set up an appointment for the next morning.  He arrived on time and fixed the problem immediately.  He waived the service fee since it was a simple fix.  Thanks, Lou!

Lou Curley is professional, polite, clean and punctual.  He provided the service requested, cleaned up after himself well (not a trace of ash or smell of ash is in the house) and the price was as quoted.  He provided an Angie's List discount as well of 15%.  We will use him again and will and recommend him to others.

Lou arrived on time, and began the project immediately. He was extremely thorough, and fixed a part of the damper that needed some tightening of the screws. Lou kept the work area quite neat and was careful with dust/materials/particles leaving the fireplace area (and we appreciated that very much given that we have two children). During the inspection, he used his camera to demonstrate the condition of our flue/liner. Overall, I will use his company to do this next season.

Lou Curley's Chimney Service was very professional and very clean. He did suggest some repairs on one of the chimneys but we haven't had that done yet. He came and did the work and left.

It went really well. Lou scheduled quickly and after a thorough examination helped us understand  a long-standing issue with our chimney/fireplace. He was also incredibly thorough  in his inspection. He was excellent and we recommend him very highly!

Lu was on time, despite the snow. He put traps on the carpet where he was working and walking. After moving the dryer out from the wall he attached his super powered vacuum and ran that while he was outside cleaning the dryer vent with a drill powered brush. Top quality work.

Lou was very courteous and professional. He swept the chimeny with minimal spread of soot and dirt throughout the house and then proceeded to perform a Level II inspection of our chimney as indicated by our circumstances. He was very thorough, inspecting from the basement to the attic to the roof. Lou even showed me some of the pictures he took and explained what he had found (all bad news, unfortunately). He gave his recommendations and cleaned up all of his things. I would definitely recommend him. He emailed me my report a few days later complete with photos and explanations.

He was extremely thorough.  He pointed out things about our fireplace and chimney that we never heard before from any past chimney sweeps we hired.  Due to the size and location of the flue he could not be video scanned, so he had to do visual inspection.

He was punctual, polite and answered questions.  Over all, we were very pleased with the work that he did, and we will have him back to do any additional chimney or vent work that we need done.

We recently moved in to a home that had been occupied by renters for 15+ years and weren't sure of the chimney condition and if it was safe to use. I called Lou late one evening and he called me back the next day to schedule an appointment. Lou was able to set up an appointment for within a few days (in what I assume must be a chimney sweep's busy season) and arrived right on time that day. He performed a level 1 inspection of both the fireplace chimney and furnace connection and recommended a sweep. I asked him to go ahead and do the sweep and he immediately set up in front of the fireplace, careful to avoid furniture and other objects, and swept the chimney quickly and cleanly. After he was finished he inspected again with his camera equipment and showed me that everything looked normal. Lou cleaned up everything perfectly leaving no dirt or soot anywhere. I asked him to also take a look at the chimney cap because every so often we get some water and he went up on the roof to check it out. Lou recommended we replace the cap and liner this coming spring and wrote an estimate for both services should we choose to have him do the work. The whole job took just over 1 hour.
