JOHN MCLEOD CARPENTER

John was professional in his manner and the work that he performed at my home. He showed up when he said he would. If there was a delay he notified me immediately. He cleaned up after himself at the end of each day. At the beginning of each day, he reviewed what he completed on the previous day and what was left to complete. The work that I needed were what some might call odd jobs. John quoted me his hourly rate to make sure that I was comfortable with the price. It was a fair hourly rate. I also had a few windows that needed repair. When he wasn't sure how to proceed, John provided me that name of another contractor.

John was extremely professional in his dealings with us. He had told us he had another major project going on during the day, but was happy to work with us in the evening (perfect for us, so that we didn't have to take time off of work). The whole job took maybe 2 hours, and the closet was in excellent shape when he was done. He cleaned up everything and didn't overcharge us. We will definitely call him again for any home projects we have.

The latest job was installing a new bathroom vanity, medicine cabinet, counter and sink. He had previously installed new shelves in the bathroom too, The shelves came in first so John installed those and then measured and did a template for the bathroom counter and sink. He also worked on our kitchen sink and counter. We bought a granite countertop from Home Depot so he came before they measured to remove our old kitchen counter, and after they came he was able to put it back so we didn't need to go two weeks without a kitchen. He also needed to make some adjustments for the difference between the old and new one. Also, for both of the above jobs, he knew a good plumber who could help us with installing new pipes and faucets. John was also able to help us with replacing some rotten wood on our front porch around the window frames. It seems like there is no job he can't handle when it comes to home repair and/or remodeling. He is by far the best contractor we have ever used. He responds quickly, once he is available arrives on time, and the quality of his work is excellent - he obviously takes great pride in doing the right the first time. We couldn't ask for more and will definitely use him again.

If you have a job concerning carpentry, replacement or small remodel/restore, John can help. Twice he came to "fix" things, first bad kitchen molding and next a piece of vinyl siding that was coming off the building. Both times he came, saw the problem and fixed it before he left. I have been completely satisfied.

It was a positive experience throughout. We reponed to the initial call and gave a responble quote explaining precisesly what he would do. We scheduled the work within 2 weeks and he came the day he said he would. Work complete was high quality. it has added greatly to our homes image. I have used him for two handman items since. The existing soffit and fascia was painted white wood that was in need of repairs in two places 1- a corner where birds had made a home/nest in the rotting wood and 2- along a flat side edge where a squirrel chewed his way in where the wood and gutter meet. I called John, he came out evaluated the work and then gave us three options (all at different price points) to repair the damage. John was punctual, tidy and courteous. The end result of his work is spectacular. He was not only able to match the existing detail of the soffit and fascia, but he did so in a timely and cost effective manner, staying within the original cost and time estimate. This entire process from my first call to John to the completed work took about 2 weeks, and any lag time was our fault.
I would highly recommend John and his work to friends and neighbors looking for a carpenter or handyman.

John performed a seamless job! He was quick, thorough and did fantastic work! The end result was EXACTLY what we had asked for. He clearly takes pride in his work. He was also very tidy and took the time afterwards to clean up. He did a great job, such that you couldn't even tell that he had been there!

John does great work. He is a perfectionist (even on the back stairs!) He was not satisfied with the grain on one board. He felt it didn't match the rest of the boards. He replaced it the next day! He is a very nice guy.
