+ -1 moreHe never showed up. I called him and he couldn't even remember that we had set something up. He said someone else was supposed to show up but they never did either. I consider this to be unreliable.

He mentioned how certain projects were going to be expensive instead of just explaining how much the project would be. He would get off track instead of giving bluntly giving me the information I was asking for.

+ 0 moreThe job was a difficult one because the mood of my tenant was hostile. We had gotten 20 inches of rain, and the damage was severe. While my tenant couldn't cast blame on the weather, I was the one who received the tirades, and working through this was difficult. John's demeanor was always to remain calm with him, ( which was challenging) and remain very supportive for me. All we could do was address each issue as it surfaced, and John was on-site every step of the way. My experience with John is that he gives me a price for the job.. and that's the price. There's no clock-watching, and anything that needs to be done, gets done in a highly professional way. By the time the job finished, my tenant had already vacated the property, and when the new tenant moved in, the first thing they noticed was the beautiful job that John and his team had delivered. My property is an old home, but everything was new again, and a property I'm very proud of, because of John Gregory and his accomplished staff.
Description of Work: Last July, horrific seasonal storms caused $10,000 worth of damage to one of my rental units. The entire back of my property was wind and water damaged, causing stress to my tenants and myself. My first call was to John Gregory, as he's my "One call, does all" resource and I knew he had all the skills to get my home back into shape. The most important part was to get the inside dry, and make sure the water hadn't done electrical damage. John's first repair was to the outside area to cement under the windows and protect the area from further water intrusion. He then removed all my windows and replaced them in a beautifully installed job that included framing, both inside and out. The water had intruded into the rooms, and great attention was paid to sealing and finishing. The capping was done especially well, and additional sealer was added to the outside of the windows to assure that water damage could never again occur. While I'm only addressing the job he did on my window installation, I'm happy to say that I've called on John for additonal carpentry work on other occasions, and his work is impeccable. He's truly a full service contractor who can handle plumbing, electrical or mechanical issues, and does it all with great skill, in a timely fashion, and at a fair price.

+ -1 moreJohn seems to be permanently attached to his bluetooth, because he's always reachable!!. I've never called him on his office phone, just his cell, and all I need do is tell him it's an EMERGENCY, and he's there when promised. Because I'm in a duplex, it's important to contain leaks as quickly as possible before they seep down to my level, and that was exactly the situation when I called out for help. What I most like about John is that he gives me a price for a completed job, as opposed to a TIME CHARGE. I find this way of doing business less stressful than watching a clock. John arrived when promised, surveyed the situation, turned off the water and got to work immediately. I'm always impressed by John's respect for my property, because when he leaves a site, he leaves it the way he finds it... or BETTER. I didn't have to clean-up behind him, and he took the old parts away so I didn't need to deal with the mess. He reminded me that all work is guarenteed, and if a problem arose with either installation, he was to be called immediately so he could handle any issue, should it occur. In all candor, I've had contractor problems in the past when people were not their word, and John has the most integrity of any contractor I've ever worked with.
Description of Work: John is a Licensed Master Plumber, and all-around service provider. My upstairs tenant needed faucet replacement in both the bathroom and the kitchen. While on the job, we also noticed that the bulb above the sink had broken inside the receptacle.One of the things I like most about working with John is that when he notices things like this, he just fixes it at the same time he's completing the work he's been hired to do. His work is always done quickly, cleanly, and there's never a hidden charge. Both faucets were removed and replaced, all work areas were cleaned up and bad faucets were removed from the property. When I inspected the job, I noticed that the piping under the sink was open from the cabinet installation that had been done by the original contractor. John completed the job by sealing off the open space and leaving a larger and more secure storage area under the sink... which was greatly appreciated by my tenant.
