Rich, company owner, responded quickly to my request for an estimate and scheduled the evaluation for a few days later. His estimate was fair and more affordable than 2 other estimates I had previously gotten from other floor refinishing companies. We scheduled a date for the job to be done 2 weeks later. Rich was a good communicator & answered my questions I had leading up to the job, via emails/texts. Alex (contractor) actually did the floor refinishing, alone & he did a fabulous job refinishing our dining room, living room & 2 closets. The floors are old, white oak and now have new life breathed into them! A hole in one of the closet floors needed to be patched and he did that job very well too. Alex worked 8 hour days and left the house tidy & with as little dust as possible. We would definitely recommend RM Krol Flooring to friends and family who are looking to have their wood floors refinished.

Paul did a great job of cleaning and sanding and then coating our floor with a water based product. It looks wonderful. He cleaned up thoroughly.

Rich and his team were all very professional, on time, and did their work with no sanding dust as promised. His price was reasonable and our 60+ year old oak floors turned out great. I had new hardwood floors installed in one room and existing floors sanded and refinished in 3 other rooms. The price was accurate and fair for the work which was done and the level of quality. They provided very detailed and quality work. The finished project came out great!

I have an old home over 100 years when I pulled the carpet up and found the long forgotten pine floor I knew I had to bring it back to its original state. I have used HomeAdvisor before with great results. Rich is local, which is important to me, he was very attentive, was quick with a quote. Scheduling was easy and once they got here their guys were efficient, clean and respectful. They did a great job,. Room looks fabulous, so I scheduled for a second room to be done in the near future.

Rich called me very quickly and got the job set us fast. The team sent was very professional, on time and reliable. Our floors were a real mess with tons of stains and nail holes. They made them look better than I imagined they could and even matched the grayish brown laminate in the kitchen. The smell and mess was much less than I expected.

What customers need to know - Rich sells the job, collects the deposit and picks up the final payment. Richard Krol has contractors working for him so the contractor's loyalty is to Rich rather than the customer. We had multiple hiccups for two projects we hired RM Krol to do: Refinish our two level home and carpet 3 bedrooms. Due to a 5 hour power outage the hardwood floor crew left to start another job and didn't return for 4 1/2 days. On the day of the outage the crew captain was rude and dismissive and kept saying, call Rich, we're just the contractors. After which, reaching Rich was extremely difficult/ next to impossible. We had to move our move-in date which required additional storage of our furniture for an added cost of $700. When Rich picked up the final payment all he said was, "we can't afford to lose money on a power outage since we don't know how long it is going to last". While I understand that he runs a business with a tight bottom line he needs to change his attitude towards his customers. Our second job - carpeting - was just one mess up after another and it all began with lack of communication beginning with the install date. Then, one of Rich's carpet foreman hurt his back and since he was unable to return to work another crew came in. The installer believed there was a discrepancy in the original measurement and thought we were short some carpet. He proceeded to leave the roll of carpet (the size of a car) in our garage and told us he'd be back when the right amount was made available. I told him that was unacceptable and he too had the same response as the floor refinisher, "call Rich", I'm just the contractor and trying to help him out. I had to resort to the centuries old threat, if you don't show up today to install what we have, do not ever call me again and don;t expect to receive a single penny. Needless to say, they were on the job within 2 hours. The stress of hounding these guys to come back and finish was beyond exhausting. I had to move multiple other services in order to accommodate the repeated delays. The lack of communication and authoritarian control Rich wields over his sub-contractors were enough for me to take the time to write this lengthly review.
