Rick's work is exemplary. Even after a year, the custom bathroom he built for us looks top notch. He was very patient with us in selecting custom fittings, and other niceties and worked with us every step of the way. And he was definitely very affordable.
The only challenge I had was with the fact that he used too many subcontractors and at times that made it challenging. But each time we brought Rick in, he solved those challenges very quickly.

Rick and his team remodeled our basement.  Overall, he did a great job and we were very happy with the work.  We especially liked that he worked closely and knew with the crew very well.   He was also very attentive to our questions and completed the project on time and on budget.  We would have no hesitation of using Rick again and recommend his services.

MAKING IT RIGHT. We have lived in our house for 3 years and have done numerous projects (Kitchen, Master Bath, Master Bedroom, Family Room, Stone Patio, Roof) to personalize and customize the home we will raise our children in.

I can say without a doubt that Rick Osborne is the BEST contractor we have worked with.  After working with a variety of contractors for the other projects we knew what was important to us when we undertook our basement renovation. We were  obviously looking for someone who did good work with a number of referrals and years of experience. That said, we were also looking for someone who was responsive and who stood behind their work when challenges and curveballs occur (and after doing multiple projects - they always do).

Our project started out with a delay when we came to the realization that we needed a new french drain and sump system - this only became apparent when we demolished the existing basement walls which were framed on top of the crushed rock of the french drain. Rick was a great resource - he connected us with a public adjuster who worked with our insurance company to recoup most of the money we needed to lay out to install the new drainage system.  Once this was resolved, the project moved forward quickly with Rick and his team proactively identifying and suggesting improvements to the agreed upon plan - improvements that will make a true difference in how we, as a family will use the space.

Lastly and most importantly, there were two instances where things did not go right - the wrong special order doors were delivered and some drywall needed to be redone. In BOTH instances, Rick took responsibility and accountability for the issue and worked quickly to resolve the situation at NO COST to us. It is important to point out that these two challenges were not directly Rick's responsibility but as the GC he MADE IT RIGHT at his own expense.

Whenever we had a question, he responded the same day if not within the same hour. He communicated proactively and took the time to explain what he was doing and planning and more importantly, why he was doing it.

In summary - there is NO QUESTION in my mind that we will use Rick again. If you are reading this review because you are looking for someone to do excellent work, communicate proactively and reactively and stand behind his work - call Rick. You will be happy you did.

When we purchased our first home we decided that we wanted to finish the basement as a playroom for the kids. My husband met with several contractors asking for design suggestions, length of the project to completion and cost. Osborne Builders responded quickly and not only with computerized graphics to help us visualize our new space but also with a reasonable quote. The choice to go with Osborne Builders was obvious from the onset and remained so until completion of the project. The team was courteous, clean, trustworthy and effective. They kept us informed every step of the way and arranged for all necessary inspections in a timely fashion. We were comfortable enough with Rick's judgement that we allowed them to work in our home while we went away on vacation and returned to find our home was in perfect condition and great advancements had been made on the project. We are thrilled with the final result and he came in on time and on budget. We have strongly recommended Osborne Builders to friends and family and would use him again in a heartbeat.

The job went very well overall.  During the initial consultation Rick took the time to discuss our ideas and needs, asked questions, explained options, made recommendations, etc.  He drafted a detailed contract that covered everything we discussed during the consultation.  After the contract was signed, I first had to work with a seperate company to install the necessary egress to meet township safety code.  Rick started as soon as the egress was completed.  Rick was very responsive during the project and we were in constant communication, either in person when we were both at the house, or through email and telephone.  A very important note is that Rick did what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it.  He laid out a project timeline and pretty much stuck to it.  The quality of the work was excellent.  At the end of the project, Rick made sure we were fully satisfied with the work before taking final payment.  We look forward to working with Osborne Builders again in the future.

Needless to say, we were thrilled with the results.   My only regret is that we didn't know about Osborne Builders when we remodeled our kitchen in 2004.  It makes you really appreciate the value of a trustworthy and reliable contractor.  The owner, Rick Osborne, has always executed our ideas beyond our expectations and provided great ideas of his own to supplement the project.  He will also let you know when less expensive options are available and never tries to drive up the price by selling you on unneeded options. We are getting ready to start our next project with Osborne Builders and we never think twice about recommending them to family and friends. 

Overall it was a great experience. We were very happy with how everything went. The team was very professional, reliable, and did great quality work. We felt very comfortable having them in our home whether we were home or not. The owner helped us with the design and gave us some great ideas to get the maximum use of the space available. We would definitely use them again in the future.

They didn?t charge me anything for that. They sent somebody to inspect it. He said it?s going to dry fine and also said to let it air out thoroughly before closing it all up. I never got a bill or anything, so it was really nice. He came out very quickly like the day after we called. He always has good guys working for him. I would recommend them to the others whole heartedly. They are reliable and they do beautiful work. I feel secure leaving them in my house and also giving them access to my house. I?m not worried about my stuff. He did this work free for us as a courtesy because he has done bigger jobs earlier for us. I would use their services again in the future.

They contracted another subcontractor for a plumbing job. The basement work was completed in December of 2009. The work that they did was like really finishing an entire floor of the house. They were fantastic. The owner is a guy who is like a dream to be with when you are talking about a home project of this size. He works with you and has good ideas. He is honest about the cost and doesn?t try to push anything over on you at all. He tells you about everything that?s going to cost extra. So it was a fantastic experience. The guys who work for his company are just unbelievable. Their work is impeccable. Things are expensive now but the price was good for the things we got done. We would definitely use his services in the future without a doubt.
