 + -1 moreRich came out the day after I called and quickly took care of the GFI Outlet. Then he worked with me to figure out how to install a new outlet by running a new line under the house. I have not installed that line yet.

Description of Work: Electrical circuit in bonus room was not working - I could not identify why lighting and outlets were inop. Also needed estimate to install a bathroom humidity-fan.

Description of Work: Rich did residential electrical troubleshooting for us on two occasions recently, found the problems and made repairs- one that was dangerous and could have caused a fire. He returns calls, showed-up on time & prepared, got right to work, and got the job done quickly and effectively. We highly recommend him for small residential electrical jobs (and big jobs too, if you can get him).

 + 1 moreRich Krzaczyk did an excellent job: he called back within a couple of hours, arrived exactly on time the next day, performed all required repairs, which included a trip to a local lighting store to purchase a new switch -- and he had a great, friendly personality to boot! We will definitely hire him again.
Description of Work: Fixed two rows of nonworking ceiling lights in basement (needed new hardware), repaired nonworking outside lamp, repaired another basement lamp, and adjusted height of dining room light fixture hanging from ceiling.

 + -1 moreRich Krczaczyk will be my electrician as long as I need one. I had a problem with an outside electrical box that is used for a flag light and a general purpose outlet. After some 20 yrs., it needed replacement. Rich came with the necessary hardware and replaced it quickly. We also decided to replace the circuit breaker as well. Both jobs were done in a timely and professional manner and for a very reasonable price.

His price was fair, he answered phone messages in a timely manner (!) and did exactly what I wanted. My house is shall we say complicated. He analyzed the problem, came up with the solution, did the work quickly and on time and in addition is a very nice person. Now, next time there is a power outage, my well will pump water and I will have heat. I am not saying I want it to happen, but if it does I am ready!

Description of Work: Rich rewired my electric meter and got rid of our old off-peak meter. We live in a 200 year old house and several things we out of date. He brought everything up to code and added a second ground wire. While he was there he also installed some low voltage outdoor lighting which I had bought.

Description of Work: My house is extremely old, and has sections with ball-and-post, BX, and cloth-covered wire, some of which run through stone walls. Additions to the electric system had been made over many years by different people, and it was a complex hochpot of wire. I needed repair of an antique exterior lamp, addition of some dimmers for existing lights, and replacement of a defunct ceiling fan at a covered patio, I also wanted conversion of a timer-controlled exterior light circuit to a modern astronomic timer, and interconnection with a new light at the end of my driveway.I contacted several electricians in the area, and none of them wanted to work on it. One particularly candid electrician said that he would not work on a job in which modern replacement parts were not available.Rich Krzaczyk responded promptly, was unfazed by the complexity of the jobs, and started work in due course. I was very pleased with the work and the cost. The repair of the antique exterior light was difficult, in part because of the corrosion, but it turned out to need nothing more than replacing a small screw. The replacement of dimmer switches went well, and the installation of an enlarged exterior box on the patio also went well. Due to the complex nature of the wiring, he spent considerable time determining what went where, but succeeded with good humor.When he was through, my wife decided that the new ceiling fan was too clean, and made the other ceiling fan look bad. So she called him back, and he returned the next day and replaced the second fan.The new light at the end of the driveway is not yet installed, but that is because I could not decide on a height for the post and my wife had not yet decided on the style of the lamp. I have ordered the parts, and expect that part of the project to be done within a couple of weeks.
