JANE MAGEE SOWDEN FABRICATIONS

This was a delightful experience. Although we had no time urgency, Jane managed to insert our project into her at-that-time-full schedule within a couple of weeks after I phoned her. Jane was very prompt in meeting me at the house, first for the cutting and pinning session, and then 9 days later to hem the skirted slipcover and check the fit on both covers (perfect). She phoned to confirm her departure time before each trip. She requested a 50% deposit at the first visit, with the balance paid on the second. Jane tells me that she is currently emphasizing home decor sewing like cushions, duvet covers, dust ruffles, simple panels. My impression is that she currently prefers not to spend a lot of time traveling away from her workshop. Her slipcovers are beautiful, and she has been doing this work for about 30 years. Travel requirements may influence her interest in taking on new slipcover projects. She tells me that she does not do drapes. She is great to work with!
