His contract clearly states that he will not check items such as power outlets and appliances. I knew this going into the agreement but figured he must be an excellent inspector otherwise so I was willing to leave these items out thinking that he would catch the big ticket items. Looking back on it, for $650, he should've been there for 6 hours and checked everything in the house. Other quotes I received were much more comprehensive and less expensive.
Bottom line, I would not hire him again. There are many more inspectors out there who will do a better job for less money. I wish I would've gone with one of them instead.
"Many things discussed are false. We stand behind the product we produce. Greg is a certified building inspection engineer. Our focus on a home inspection is to look for major structural issues or failures. Many people do not understand that we review the items that will affect the integrity of a home or building. The amount of time does not reflect the end result. If we do not enter an attic or crawl space it is because there were objects in the way of our ability to perform the inspection. Any inspection in the state of Pennsylvania is a visual inspection. We wish this gentlemen had called to discuss any of the issues."
