We contracted with the Anton family to construct a pool per our design. At the time we signed contract they assured us that the pool would be completed within a certain timeframe. They did not meet that timeframe and we had an empty hole in our backyard for over the winter. Construction recommenced the following spring.
While we are not altogether unhappy with the overall outcome of the construction, there are a number of serious flaws in the hard structure that at this point cannot be repaired. The concrete deck color is faded. The concrete around the pool surface has many cracks and large chunks missing. When we talked with one of the Anton family members his answer was “well concrete cracks”. Attached please find photographs of some of the cracks.
The joints where our existing concrete patio and the new pool apron meet are poorly constructed. The material they used as filler has broken and fallen away in less than a year. They have not affected any satisfactory repair. The same problem exists around the large stone fountain on the pool edge. The fountain is beautiful but the joints look terrible.
The matrix applied to the walls and floor of the pool is inconsistent of color. There are splotches and white streaks rather than a
smooth consistently colored surface. When we complained about the color of the pool walls and floor the answer was essentially “well nothing is ever perfect”. For a total price of $63,000 we may not be able to expect perfection but we surely
would have liked to have been a lot closer.
We also would’ve appreciated a more consumer friendly customer service from the Anton family. The ‘family’ was a big selling point for us and a major factor in our decision to contract with this company. However, when the whole family exhibits a lackadaisical attitude to construction project of this magnitude – ‘family’ is meaningless.

They were fine. They came and did what they have to do right away. The pricing was expensive. I would not use them again because of the price.

Very easy to work with. I left a voicemail and they called me back. I left a check taped to the back gate and they took care of the rest while I was at work. I'll use them as my main pool company going forward.

They were very quick to respond to our request. They gave us a quote over the phone and scheduled our appointment at the same time. We had a family party scheduled for the holiday and found ourselves with no heat for the pool. Anton Sons were so accomodating . They managed to get us into their schedule and had us up and running in time for the holiday
.
We were so impressed and pleased that we ordered a new pool cover from them. It was installed a few weeks ago. Looks great.

We liked them very much. There are very prompt and their prices are very good. We called them when we had a problem with our pumps and they came over immediately so we liked them a lot. We are happy with them. We chose them because they were the cheapest that we could find locally and were very good because we checked the references as well. They are the best local pool service that we could find and we highly recommend them. The last time they came was just a service call and cost us just $50 which is very cheap.

The opening went smoothly. We have used this company for years for both opening and closing our pool and they always come as scheduled and get our pool running.
Anton and Sons has done repairs on our filter, tile work and other small items. If I've left messages during the day, Tom has always returned my calls within one day (usually in the evening since he is out with his crew during the day).
It is nice to have found a family run, local business that has proven to be reliable and trustworthy.

Sometimes they have people with them that don't know very much, so it just depends on who you're dealing with. They did make a mess of one of my things, but they did come and mend it. The people who run the company and the people who are in charge of the crews are very knowledgeable. I have recommended them to other people, but sometimes they don't answer the phone. It's expensive, but if you have somebody ruin your pool it's even more expensive. They're very good because if I don't pay them in time they wait for me to pay them. They don't expect to be paid right there before their finish.

Signed contract in Feb , so pool would be up and ready by mid-May .Due to some initial misinformation and some changes it took a little longer. We original thought the bluestone coping would be bullnosed (rounded on the edge) but our quote was for smaller bluestone and not bullnosed. We wanted the larger pieces and bullnosed, so the cost was more and it takes longer to get. On April 26th told the bluestone would not be available till mid to late May. After many delays from the supplier , they had the bluestone and installed it on June 2nd. ....worth the wait...it is beautiful!!!!. Next the plastering....they did an ok job... a little sloppy...spatters of plaster on new coping. At first we tried to clean it but it wouldn't come off and we were very disappointed in the workmanship. Called Anton and Sons, who called their plasterer and he came out and acid washed it. Should have made the call first instead of trying to fix it ourselves. The deck-o-seal was done by Tim Anton, he added a little sand to it which helped it to match to our concrete decking.....nice finishing touch! Anton and Sons were very responsive. Sam, Tom and Tim Anton were always very professional and very nice to work with. We are extremely happy with our pool renovation AND very happy with 5% coupon for Angie's list members.

I started using Anton and Sons a couple years ago after I got fed up with my current service provider. I contacted them based on a referral and I am so happy I did. This season they came out on time and performed the opening. THey also examined my filters and said we needed a new one and showed us the problems with the current filter. We agreed to get the new filters and they immediately installed a new set. The pool has worked perfectly since the opening and all issues have been addressed. This year's service istypical of that we have received for the past two seasons. It has not mattered who we dealt with (Tim, Tom or anyone else that shows up), they have all been courteous, professional and a pleasure to deal with. I have since recommended thier services to two friends and they are completely happy with thier service as well. I should also note that the prices they quote are more than comparable (and usually beat) thier competitors. We have complete trust in this company and have only been completely satisfied with thier work!

DO NOT USE ANTON AND SONS POOL SERVICE!!!
Where to start... Let me put it simlpy, I schedule the pool opening on May 19th. It's now July 3rd and I still am not swimming. I knew the pool would need immediate cleaning so I scheduled a cleaning in conjunction with the pool opening. They came to open the pool but didn't clean it, made up some excuse. EVERY time I called it went to voicemail. They are terrible at returning calls and customer service in general. They opened my pool which included starting the pump, I noticed it running, as it had been all last season, and then when they finally came back to clean, they told me the pump was done for and charged me $500 for a new one. The cleaning was half-assed and they said they'd come back again. I was understanding, as the pool was dirty. Several missed appointments with no call-backs and the pool still wasn't cleaned. It was about this time the ducks moved in. So shady business time. I call and leave a voicemail saying don't bother coming out. I wake up the next moring and see the pool is again, half-assed cleaned, looks like they shocked it again but didn't vacuum. He said he didn't get my voicemail till after he sent his guys out. So I was like, well it's still not clean and he said he'd come back out. Meanwhile in between all the no-show-no-call I'm scooping out sludge from the bottom of the pool so it's getting a bit cleaner. Then the final kick in the a** is his guys show up and say they couldn't get in because the gate was locked. He's clearly got the code for the gate being that they've been there a few times. They left a note saying call the office. Which goes straight to voicemail as usual. I am writing this on the 3rd of July.
Finally received a call at 4pm from an old crabby man who was making it sound like it was my fault that they couldn't get in. They have no professionalism or curtesy. I now have an unswimable pool with guests arriving in less than 24 hours.
My wife and I both work so we can afford the luxury of not having to deal with the pool. Anton is absolutely not getting my business ever again.
tl/dr; I urge any readers to FIND SOMEONE ELSE!

I saw an ad Anton and Sons were running for a pool installation package. I called and relayed my situation. Tom Anton came out to survey the job and work up a price. Tom was very pleasant and professional. I didn't get another quote so I really don't know whether what I paid was too much or not. When the job was started, Tim Anton supervised the job. Tim is just as pleasant and professional as Tom. The work was performed as described and in a very timely manner. In the demo of the original deck, the pool electrical service lines were cut. The homeowner who installed the pool had not run the lines through conduit. Tim reassessed the situation and suggested an update to the existing pool service which makes the pool look so much cleaner and solid. He also ran a new service line to feed the new pool timer switch. The upcharge I felt was reasonable considering the setup that was previously there. The new deck was poured and it looks great. Since the deck has been put in, I've called Tom Anton a couple times because I didn't understand what switches controlled what fixtures around the pool. He was always very patient and professional in answering my questions - however mundane. When Tim ran the new electrical service to the pool pump/filter, after the original lines were cut, he connected the service to a subpanel in a detached garage. When I would run the pool pump the subpanel service disconnect breaker would trip. I called Tom and told him the issue. Tim came out the following day. He inspected the new service lines he ran, took apart the timer switch and panel to ensure it was installed correctly and had his team inspect the pump motor. While they were here, I said I was having a problem of air leaking into my system and Tim was able to help fix that. Tim inspected the subpanel and saw that one of the feed wires into the subpanel was scorched. He suggested I call an electrician because whatever was going on was something to do with the subpanel. I called an electrician to learn that the subpanel is a 60 amp panel that already had a 50 amp breaker and several 20 amp breakers on it. The pool pump/filter breaker took up another 50 amp breaker position. The subpanel was an older push breaker model feeding off of a new switch breaker main panel. When the pump runs it overloads the subpanel. I don't fault Tim for not realizing this. He did a marvelous job after the sale providing excellent customer service and I would highly recommend Anton and Sons Pools.

The first year I had Anton and Sons close the pools they were terrific. They sent a crew of 3 guys, who were quick, thorough, and professional. Every experience after that got worse. This last service was the final straw. I had my house up for sale, and the Realtor wanted the pool open as soon as possible. I called Tom Anton, and explained that I would be going to California in late May, and wanted to see if I should schedule them to come out before I left or after I returned. I would be gone for 2 weeks. He said they could come out the Friday before the Monday I left. I agreed to this because t would give me more than 48 hours to run the pumps, and the chance to clean out the debris since I have a mesh cover. I called them the night before and left them a message asking them to confirm they were coming and to let them know that the door to the basement was open, where the pool control were located. The next call I got was late Friday afternoon - I missed the call, but called it right back before I even listened to the voicemail, and went straight to voicemail. I listened to the message and it was from Tom. He said they they couldn't get to the pool controls, so I needed to turn it on when I got home to make sure it all worked. I went home and turn it on and it was leaking like a sieve. They also had not installed the Polaris. I called Tom back that night, and left a message. No reply. I called multiple times the next day, and never received a call back. I left the house for about an hour in the middle of the day, and later in the day I got a message from Tom that they stopped by but no one was home. I called an expressed my unhappiness that no one called before-hand and no one ever replies to my calls. I was immediately given attitude, and told how busy they were due to the rainy weather. Then why did they say they could get it done before I left? No one on their crew carries a cell phone and could have called me on Friday about access to the pool room? Since the door was unlocked, no one even tried the door - when they saw no one was home, they didn't even attempt to complete the job. The result was that the pool cover was off and my pool was green and disgusting for the next 2 weeks, which did nothing for showings. They did come back while I was away and fixed the leaky pump, my neighbor let them in, but they again did not install the Polaris so for 2 weeks the booster pump came on and blasted water into the pool to no effect. I have since move on to another company. They were very responsive and professional upfront, before I started pre-paying for service. I would not recommend Anton and Sons pools to anyone.

They came by for a look and gave an estimate, showed up when they said, started the work promptly, minimized the amount of damage to the pool by hand excavating. The tiles and the curb were left intact. Nice finish on the repaired concrete deck. Everything went smooth.

Initially, he was very nice, came out, he disconnected my pool pump and then told me I had to call another pool company because he dealt mainly with in-ground pools. I thanked and paid him for his time and work. When I called the other company, they told me to reconnect the pump and to buy a hose for the pool. I left a detailed message about what happened with the other company and that I wanted him to come and put it back since I had already paid and it shouldn't have been done in the first place. I haven't heard anything from him and I've called numerous times and left many messages.

We are newbies to pools and didn't have a clue about where to start..enter Angie's list, and a friend who had also used Anton's service years back. We called them and Tom one of the son's answered. We set an appointment for opening the pool. Tom was terrific. As he was showing my husband how to start up the filter the motor burnt out right then and there. Tom took the motor to see if it could be repaired, but no luck. He replaced the motor and housing within the week and had the pool up and running.
We were having difficulty getting the water clear, so called them for advice and Sam Anton the one and only talked with my husband about how to approach the situation. We were fortunate to be able to gleen from his 53 years of experience.

We got about 5 estimates and other companies were trying to nickel and dime us, some wanting to charge an additional $2,000 to repair the pool floor. Anton and Sons said our pool floor was not bad at all and they did not inflate the price.

Responsiveness is a little slow, but if you are not in a huge rush, Anton and Sons is the way to go. I could not believe that once the liner came in, they got my liner installed and the pool filled in one day.

One additional point of interest that sets Anton and Sons apart: When we had work done before with other companies, usually we have to fill the pool ourselves THEN call them back in to finish, which can be a multi-day process sometimes lasting a week or more. Anton and Sons had us scheduled for water deliveries to fill the pool and that's how everything was done in one day.

We absolutely loved the quality of their work and their professionalism.
