The existing walkway & adjacent areas presented several challenges. The walkway settled over 15+ years, creating trip hazards. The surrounding area from the driveway to the deck stairs has several "dead spaces"... old garden beds w/ weeds, grass area with more weeds than grass, adjacent beds that need cleaning & reshaping, small storage area for trash cans, A/C units & garden hose. Beyond the walkway & deck steps, the back yard leading to the basement door under the deck is steeply sloped and constantly wet with poor drainage, making access to the basement door unusable. I was thinking of building steps and a tiered bed or a paved "ramp" down to the basement door. I hired Bill because he came up with a good design with unique features for driveway, walkway and yard space. They installed a series of boulders to create natural looking steps. These were integrated into the existing beds along the base of the deck. They built a raised, tiered bed on the other side of the boulder steps with plants & shrubs to provide a pleasing garden view from the deck above as well as ground level. They also added pavers to the existing walkway leading to the basement door with a better drain to improve drainage. They also built new steps & landing to the side entry door out of pavers to match the new walkway. This includes a portico which was subcontracted to a carpenter/builder. While we were discussing that project. I had him evaluate our front beds, which were in bad shape with dead or overgrown plantings and lots of weeds. While I wanted to start the walkway & back project first, Bill & the crew started on the FRONT first. I was a bit upset at first, but it turned out to be the right approach. Bill has made several suggestions / recommendations about layout, scope/ order of work, plantings, etc., some of which I didn't necessarily agree with. But all of his suggestions turned out well. Bill was also flexible with payments during the project, allowing us to "pay as we go". My only complaint is, while these were big projects, they took a LOOONG time (10 months!), between rain delays, backlog of other projects making crew & equipment unavailable and a health issue. I managed to remain patient with Bill & his crew. The final touches are going in place now. It has been worth the wait.

Timely, cleaned up after themselves.  Some of the plantings looked kind of sad, but was told it was normal for azaleas that time of year.  2 of 4 bounced back to look good, 2 didn't.  They did replace two azaleas that died, under warranty as promised.
Would definitely recommend them and use them again.

The project started around Memorial day and finished second week of July. Workers were very neat and courteous. They taped tarps to our porch and covered the pool so stone powder would not dirty either area (they did this on numerous occasions). As I said in the above section, we are very happy with the result.
