This is our first house and our first time needing a chimney sweep. We understood that it is busy season for chimney sweeps and we called multiple contractors hoping the could fit us in before it got cold. Ye Olde Chimney Sweep was the only contractor that answered the phone when we called. We were hoping we would be lucky enough to get an appointment the following month but Ye Olde was able to fit us in the next week. We were quoted a price range for this service over the phone. They called us the night before our scheduled appointment to give us a time window for the following day. The chimney sweep man was on-time and friendly. The service lasted a couple hours as our chimney was filthy and our fireplace isn't typical (not Ye Olde's fault). When the bill came, it was exactly as quoted on the phone. The chimney guy even spent some time petting our dogs while waiting us to sign the paperwork. Great job. Will hire again.

They provided documentation on my old and discontinued fireplace that successfully proved to the building inspector that my fireplace did not need to be totally replaced. They responded to my inquiry the same day and made minor repairs within 3 days -- experienced, prompt, fast and professional!!

Fred sent his mechanic brian out to inspect and take exact measurements for the replacement parts. Very professional. Fred sent a written estimate within a few days. I Sent in a deposit for the work and about a week later new cover and air box were installed. Looks great and won't rust. Very happy. Had a new roof installed a few days earlier. This was the cherry on top.

The owner gave me a price on the phone and explained in detail exactly what they would do. They called the night before my service date to let me know what time they would be there. The chimney cleaner showed up exactly on time. He was very nice and professional. He kept every thing very clean in the surrounding area. He did a good job cleaning the chimney and charged exactly what I was quoted. I would definitely recommend them.

I have been using this company to clean the chimney for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. They are professional, clean, and do a thorough job. You would also be hard pressed to find a better price from anyone else.

the work was done nicely, but the worker Jeremy stole $600 from my coin collection. I called the police and they came and took finger prints, and are currently investigating.. Owner has refused to compensate me for the loss. However he did return my check for $234.00 after I had stopped payment on it.
Update from the police: The owner failed to do a background check on Jeremy, which would have disclosed that he was convicted of two crimes from stealing from WAWA. Without my knowledge, the owner sent a convicted criminal into my house to provide a service.

The Old Chimney Sweep came out the same day I called them. I was in the process of having my old heater replaced by another vendor as well. They were unable to complete the job that day due to no fault of their own and came back the next day. They were professional and cordial. I would hire them again.

THE SERVICE MAN ASKED FOR WD-40 TO REMOVE A SCREW. THE SCREW BROKE AND HE DID NOT FIX IT. I CALLED HIM RIGHT BACK TO TELL HIM THAT HE BROKE A SCREW AND LEFT IT UNFIXED. THEY CALLED BACK AND ASKED HOW I WANTED TO PAY FOR THE FIXING OF THE SCREW. I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS GOING TO REPORT THEM TO THE BBB, BECAUSE THEY BROKE THE SCREW ON THE FIRST VISIT AND WANTED TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER $143 JUST TO COME OUT AND FIX WHAT THEY BROKE. THE RECEPTIONIST SAID GO AHEAD.

There is a company having a similar name to ours who is located in the Aston area (close to Boothwyn). There name is The Old Chimney Sweep. This company may have possibly serviced these people."

"When (removed member name) first called me about the alleged stealing of his money, he was very convincing, and I told him I would do everything I could to get his money returned. I found his story hard to believe, but as I said, he was convincing. After the police investigation was conducted, Detective Jones, who has over 20 years of investigative experience contacted me and assured me that Jeremy had nothing to do with this alleged crime and was innocent of any wrong doing. At the beginning of the investigation, I suggested to (removed member name) it would be in both our interests for the investigation to be completed before any remedial action is taken. Before the investigation was completed, (removed member name) called and DEMANDED his $600 be returned immediately, and I if I did not comply, he would SMEAR our name on Angie's list.. I reminded him it was important for all parties of the investigation to wait for the investigation to be completed, but this was not acceptable to him. He wanted the money before the investigation was completed. (removed member name) determination to not allow the investigation to be completed was very wrong. We take a lot of pride in the quality of work we have always done for our customers and the technicians we select to service our customers. (removed member name) owes Jeremy and our company an apology and also owes us for the cleaning service we performed for him."
