They did a fantastic job of increasing the size of my new bathroom. When I had some other special requests that were outside of the contract, they were willing to work with me for a fair additional charge.
The paint job was done very well, they let me choose my paint and left the remainder of the paint with me.
Just make sure that you're there for every step of materials selection.
I think it's very important to ask them about the quality of the materials they would be using. Overall I think that they did a good job. However, I felt like the owner takes jobs without calculating the complete cost. They made the decision to take the job without even seeing the inside of my house. I feel like, if they think they can buy something cheap and get away with it, they will do so without asking first. This company showed up with my insurance company, I didn't even get a chance to look around and really evaluate who I wanted to use.
The guys that were doing the flooring looked kind of young to me. I decided to put my faith in the company, but I'm not satisfied with how things turned out. The threshold strips are constantly coming up. They also put in a refurbished furnace without informing me. I didn't even find out until later when I had it serviced. The tile that I picked out for my bathroom matched my marble sink. I also had the shower tiled to match the marble. When it came time to complete the floor, however, they told me that there weren't enough tiles to finish and that I would need to choose another style. I was at work at the time and I really wanted the work done, I didn't want to delay the project. They told me that they would pick out something that closely matches, but I hate it. I really feel like they were just trying to cut costs. I can tell that the tile they picked out was very cheap. It just upsets me. The work they did installing the tile was very good, though.
I'm also continuously having to tighten the knobs on all my doors, which is very frustrating. It's not fair, I trusted them. They knew what my taste was, and I feel like they didn't honor that in their choices.
They did some good stuff for me, They were great about letting me express various preferences that I had. I would even recommend their work. I would just really stress being as involved as possible in the material selection process.
We are extremely pleased with the service that we got from Universal Restoration Systems. The owner came right away when we called to request an estimate to put up drywall, paint and some other things needing done. He listened to what we wanted and addressed all of our concerns with great detail. The technicians that were sent out were on time, professional, careful, neat, pleasant, answered any questions we had ( believe me we had a lot of them), and did a great job!
Their service people are the best and the office staff are the most affable and considerate. Universal Restoration System is truly the best in their field! If you want a job done right and affordable use this company!
